I didn't get the CE, but I agree. Amazing amount of bullshit here.
Also, I really wonder why you didn't ask about Mega Man and UMVC3. I mean.. clearly, there's a lot of people in the community concerned right now.
Aside from that decent review, wish you asked the purpose of these design choices though. The HP and special bar look awful, also the giant X is pretty hideous as well.
This ten times over. Payed $70 for the original so you can only imagine how pissed I am over this shit.
@wutang4ever
Vergil is in, enjoy your angst filled character.
@Corduroy Turtle
Personally I think the whole game has been revamped to be ugly. The life and hyper combo/special bars are ugly, the giant X is ugly, and the character select screen was better before (saw it on the Unity stream last night). Also the screen that shows your whole time at the beginning and the end of the match is kinda bad too. The whole game did not have to be redesigned like this, very unnecessary on Capcom's part.
Unless you guys want to complain about DLC after Ultimate releases.
Cool interview.
1) Its a videogame.
2) Do you really think ANYTHING mass market released will be worth millions and millions 20 years from now like it was in the NES days?
3) $70 for the collectors edition... oh you mean the one that came with the comic, the alternate cover, the collectors tin case, the 2 DLC characters that are normally $5 a piece and a month of free Digital Comics at Marvel? You mean to tell me you didnt get what you paid for?
4) and to be totally honest, they did say there was going to be more DLC then what was released. Each DLC character would have been $5 each. 12 X$5 is $60. Most of the actual fighting game fans would have bought the DLC characters anyway. Soooo.. instead of charging us more for digital content, they are packaging the whole thing up, with tweaks people have been bitching about, and adding additional stuff to the disc.. for $40. Am I pissed its so early? Yes. But at the same time, everyone bitching would have bought the characters anyway.
Tho I hope you ended the interview with a hearty hand shake and silently mouthed the words "fuck capcom" while maintaining an intense eye contact.
@Zeno
Right? Talk about using a tragedy as a crutch...
It's funny you said story mode , because mvsc3 has no story mode. Some quote between some characters and 2 or 3 images for a ending.
So, if I purchase this game I'd be spending 100 bucks on what really could have or should only cost 70-80. Yeah, Capcom sucks...
And you are grasping at straws with the "bundle" stuff. The only "bundle" thing they have ever done was with the costume packs for ssf4. They've never bundled any mvc3 stuff... ever.
I understand the anger... I really do, but at the same time, no one is forcing you to buy this game, or any game for that matter.
And we are totally jumping the gun here with all of this... who know whats going to happen down the road, they may offer a compat. patch like they did with SSF4 and SSF4AE. We don't know all the details yet, so getting angry over anything yet seems futile.
I'd rather get all that for $40 (which I will) than $60 for only the characters.
I still think it was too early for them to announce this. SSFIV was announced a year after SFIV. This was announced 5 months after MvC3, & it's coming in Nov (though this is good timing since I'm sure it'll pick up sales for Xmas).
But holy hell I'm excited about Ultimate Marvel. Save for Hawkeye who I couldn't give a flying hell about, these new characters, to me at least, add a sense of zaniness to the game. The cast of characters thus far was great, but it wasn't as crazy as Marvel 2 which is the primary factor that charmed me about the second.
Capcom's made some damn dumb decisions lately, yes, but man what happened to basic loyalty?
>-> Also, give me more God Hand Capcom....
The problem is that the first releases are always bare bones, and far from a $60 worth of fighter. Then they expect us to pay for the game finished for another $40-$60. Japan, and Capcom need to get their crap together. It's not like they can afford to screw their few remaining customers. At this point they should be working on building great games to get back on top and become competitive with Europe and America again.

UMVC3 fans and CrApple fans have a lot in common. Niitsuma and Jobs do too.
