This can't be anything. Keeping up with current trends this sounds like Mega Man legends. Possibly the third, maybe a re-release of the previous entries. Those type of things.
The only thing I can think that people may be requesting is the next installment of Mega Man X. But I gotta be honest Legends did leave us in a cliffhanger and it bears a sequel!

HOW exactly did the article miss out on mentioning the possibility of Mega Man X9, like, you know, the most potential thing it will be.

Anyone feeling that Universe is going to be a series of Mega Man games? Legends 3 an X sequel. Man, that would be awesome. Inafune beter add a bit of Tron Bonne in there to if that's the case.
i think universe is gonna be very little big planet, not an actual game. i'm still interested though

Why is everyone clamoring for a Legends sequel? The games were interesting experiments into 3D with mediocre at best results.

What would be super awesome is if they did a new Megaman / Megaman X cross-over game where everything retained its original look. All Megaman stuff would be 8-bit, and all Megaman X stuff would be 16-bit. It would also finally explain what the hell happens between the two series.

Yeah I don't think starforce cut it as a replacement for BN.
Also Network transmission (the gamecube BN spinoff) seriously deserves more love because the concept was brilliant (a metroidvania-ish sidescroller and battle chips as powers), even if the execution left a bit to be desired.

No, no it did not. The whole three-panels-of-movement thing really ruined a lot of strategy, as all you needed was to hit down to melee.

Mega Man Universe =/= the other Mega Man thing Inafune is teasing. MMU is it's own thing entirely.
But yeah, I mean, my logic brain tells me there is absolutely no doubt it is a new MML game.... but... as time as taught me in the video game industry, very rarely does "sound logic" pan out.

I would fucking kill for a full-scale, end-all, be-all Megaman Power Fighters revival.

Thank God. I was a bit down there for a moment. I never thought I'd be this excited for a Mega Man game again. If it is Legends 3 then I'm sure that Legends 1 & 2 and hopefully Tron Bonne are going to turn up on PSN & XBLA. I miss playing those games.

Arrrgh, Conrad don't get me all hot and bothered for another Legends game for no reason. I loved that freakin' game. We should at least get 1 and 2 on PSN, they would most certainly do better than another Spec Ops title nobody asked for.
I sort of think its probably along the lines of Powered Up! 2 and/or Maverick Hunter X2. I hope I'm wrong, but the Megaman X series I sort of feel like is dead (though to be fair, I havent played anything beyond X6, it just seemed to me that the 3D X series was on life support due to mediocrity), the original/retro series is clearly moving along at full steam and Megaman 11 is not what I'd consider a "big announcement".

Didn't Mega Man have a kart racing game at some point? Could it be a sequel to that?

Legends 3 would be the most correct choice, since Battle Network and Starforce only works as a pokemon clone, X now is pretty thrilled and even if I liked X8, still not time for it, so yeah, I'm with the Legends 3 choice, but wonder for what console?... Dunno, maybe Wii or PS3 are the most wise choices for it
What about a game that ties up loose ends, ending Mega Man (original series) and starting Mega Man X series, Mega Man X Origins... I wanna play what happens plot wise in the middle of the 2 series.
