That's a silly stereotype. I believe you're overgeneralizing. The work that goes into creating costumes that detailed requires some serious skill. I would never assume they live with their parents (who cares?? do you say this just to make yourself feel superior?)
If I saw these people in real life I would congratulate them on their artful craftsmanship, their living situation and job is the last thing I would think about.

i see your point. also it seems like stern only chose or recorded certain people to try to convince his listeners that the only people that go to these events are the ones "who live in their parents basement" & just bashes them so hard. kinda gives me a bit of a butthurt since i attend some of the cons in my area and cosplay too but i do have a job, school and play games on occasion.
