Microsoft has announced a limited edition Halo: Reach themed Xbox 360 Slim. The new system will come with a 250GB HDD, two Reach themed controllers and a copy of Halo: Reach. The bundle will also include a token for the limited edition Elite armor, an episode of Halo Legends and a Halo: Reach themed wired headset. The system will also feature custom sound effects from the Halo universe which is, uh, neat I guess. The Halo: Reach limited edition console will be available on September 14 for $399.

Microsoft will also have a limited addition controller and wireless headset themed after Halo: Reach on sale starting in late August.  The controller will retail for $59.99 and the headset will go for $49.99.

It seems I may be in minority here in saying that I like the Halo series? I think the the Xbox itself looks ok but for some reason I find the controller to look awesome. For $399 it seems you are getting a decent deal.

Nothing wrong with liking Halo. I think it's a pretty solid franchise. Not really my cup o' tea, but all good games.

I'm digging the controller too, but the gray isn't as flattering on the console as the black imo. Would much rather have the regular slim.

I'm not the biggest Halo fan (nor do I hate on the series because thats the trendy thing to do), but I think this is really cool looking.

i'm gonna get this. current xbox is only 20gb. having some disc tray problems, and an occasional disc read error, batteries are going dead and my controllers are a bit squeaky too.

I figure some people upgrade their iphone every year...why can't i upgrade my xbox every 3?

Even though I'm not teh halo diehard, the unit actually looks pretty damn sweet. If I hadn't already purchased the "fingerprint-magnet" version, I might be tempted to get this one. It's quite fetching in matte silver. : ) I wonder what other special editions are coming out in the near future... I'd lay odds that a GOW 3 SE is in the works...
