It's so rare that a game can coax a genuine, non-sardonic smile from a cynical and jaded gamer, but 5TH CELL is doing its best with Scribblenauts. You all know about the game by now, and you all know that nearly everybody in the gaming media is fawning over the thing like it's a newborn golden baby. It's safe to say that critical success is in the bag.
Will commercial success be soon behind? I really hope so, and I hope Warner Bros. actually puts some marketing weight behind this. We bloggers can only do a publisher's job for it so much. Anyway, check out the new screens and watch the video after the jump. September is seeming a long way off right now.

Oh god, dammit Jim, everyone of your Scribblenauts posts makes me want it that much more. I'm marking my calender for this, and I never mark my calender for anything, not even birthdays.
i'm with you mario actually... i really really really hope that this game will be ported to the PC, or maybe even the standard 3 consoles (or at least using keyboard/ps3wand inputs with the ps3, and then wiimote/natal with the wii/360), but something tells me that it's probably going to take a looong time if they do such a thing.
Summoning a giant crab to battle a bunch of samurai? Heh.
The coolest part was the medusa though. Being able to produce it one thing, being to able to cart around its head after you kill it and turn stuff into stone is just sheer brilliance. :D
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Screw a regular eye, give that guy a bionic eye.
seriously though, the game looks sick.
Yes. *Yes.*

Gonna need creativity levels at 10 for this beauty!
I see what you did there, Scribblenauts.
Haha, it is genius.
I can´t think of other game that does that.
I am so excited to play it.
