Scribblenauts comes to iOS as Scribblenauts Remix photo

Cult hit DS game Scribblenauts has made its way to the iOS platform as Scribblenauts Remix. Costing $4.99, it features forty of the best levels from both Scribblenauts and Super Scribblenauts, plus ten iOS-exclusive challenges.

Scribblenauts Remix includes Game Center support and a feature that allows you to remove unwanted items from the play area by physically shaking your iDevice.

Seems like a really good fit for iOS, and considering the DS games cost thirty bucks each at launch, five dollars is a sweet price. I reckon that's a good buy for anybody.

Multi-touch controls will also work a lot better than an outdated stylus.

Yeah, right. Have fun trying to select a small object that overlaps another one or two with your fat finger (and by that I mean fingers are fat, not you).

Tabarnaco makes a good point. Its tricky when you spawn in tiny stuff. not impossible, but tricky. Pinch/zoom would have been a neat port feature. fat fingers are fingers, which are fat.

But, this has got to be a hoot on the larger iPad screen!

Aside from that though, it works out very nicely. The trade off in platform change is losing direct jump and attack control, but typing is down right dreamy on native iOS touch interface. Flight is much more manageable, imo, with the virtual pad

Finished the first level...after spending an hour on the title screen spawning dinosaurs and giving a massive katana to a massive God so he could fight a massive Devil. While I rode a massive rabbit.

Good times.

Wait, can you used adjectives on the original levels?

Also, horrible release day. It's going to be buried in the furore of iOS5

I'm wondering why a PC version/ripoff hasn't been made. The game practically begs for a mouse and keyboard control scheme.

I only have one BIG beef with these games. Pirates always win against ninjas. That is highly inaccurate!! Pirates are freaking missing limbs, how can possibly match the agility of a ninja? Its impossible! I refuse to believe that it takes two ninja to kill one pirate in this "game"

I'm so tempted to put Super Scribblenauts in my DS right now and start messing around with the title screen. I'd buy this if I had money and a newer iOS device though.
