ScrewAttack are my homies, as you well know if you have ever turned into their daily show Hard News. Guys on a mission to make the industry less deadly serious and more fun are the perfect candidates in my mind to launch their own gaming convention, and that's exactly what my friends have done.
The official website for SGC launches December 1st and the event itself will take place July 3rd-5th at the Westin DFW in Dallas, Texas. If you can't afford to fly across the country to go to PAX, this may be a closer option. We'll be there showing off the robot helmet and selling swag, so be sure to stop by our table if you make it out.
The screwattack people really come across as a fantastic bunch, gutted i'm gonna miss this (what with being english 'n' all). Also seeing colette on screwattack's hard news is what got me to check out destructoid! :)
Seriously, that's like 10 months away, so, I have no idea what my situation will be then, but I openly welcome all to Dallas with offers of free booze, air conditioning (not as free, but still cheap), and a shower that never drains completely.
After saying how disapointed I was about the fact I thought the announcement something every G1 could take part in I'm now more disapointed. I live in England, can't go to it and meet the ScrewAttack crew. But now I can't go to it and meet the amazing Destructiod crew eiter. One day I'll find away to get a holiday to one of these events because we sure aren't getting one here with the craptacular Play.com Live. I remember Jim Sterling saying how bad that was, but I'd probably argue it was a lot worse than how he wrote it. Ah well, if there is a worth going to gaming event here then I'll go. I might still get to meet Jim Sterling at one of them, since when Play.com Live was around I didn't go to Destructoid. No offence Jim, I'd just want to meet all of the crew and like most people, I'm only going to moan about things that I either can't do or think are stupid.
@ ArrestedDeveloper- As I've always said, if you have any questions then you can just email me (Craig@ScrewAttack.com) and I'll fill you in. All people need to do is ask instead of speculate.
I met Craig at MAGFest in January this year and had no idea who he was at the time. Then I realized he was the one who did the gaming vault videos - which are pure awesomesauce.
I met Craig at PAX this year, ironically during the Destructoid panel. Great guy, awesome site. If I can get over to Dallas, I'll definitely be going to SGC.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Fuck that! What about England?! We get nothing! NOTHINGGGG!
:D

I'm so down , see you there destructoid!
That's right in my backyard!
Keep my eye on this one.
YESSSS!
I'm in Dallas! I'm so there.
If I don't get enough money for PAX I'm going to this, If I Do... I might even do both.
I'm trying to keep from squealing in excitement at work!
