Scratch: The Ultimate DJ, a music rhythm game for fans of hip-hop, is on its way to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in June of this year. The game will feature 60 licensed and original tracks for you to scratch to, using the included Numark turntable controller.
A press release today reveals some of the tracks and artists that will be in Scratch:
The setlist will include:
- "Flashing Lights" Kanye West
- "Intergalactic" Beastie Boys
- "Let's Get it Started" The Black Eyed Peas
- "Slacker" Tech N9ne
- "Don't Sweat the Technique" Eric B. and Rakim
Additional music from artists:
- Run DMC
- The Gorillaz
- Nelly
- Deltron 3030
On top of all of that, Beastie Boys' Mix Master Mike is helping to create the game, and his music will also be featured in the title.
"As a music producer for some of the biggest artists in hip-hop music, I can't stress enough the importance of having a credible playlist in a music game such as Scratch," said Quincy Jones III, CEO and CCO of QD3 Entertainment. "The artists and songs that were announced today definitely sets the stage for Scratch and lets gamers and hip hop fans know that we are serious about making a game just for them."
Does this seem like something you can get down with, Destructoid?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
The soundtrack is building up nicely, but I just need the gameplay to be there.
dj premier doesn't scratch like dj jazzy jeff.
it'd be cool to throw in a lil bit of grand wizard theodore or kool herc.
the inclusion of flashing lights is kinda eh (not sure if i want to hear someone cut that up. i can think of like 5 kanye songs i'd cut up before that) but aside from that, i'm keeping positive.
At first I thought the guy in the header pic had a huge Kid n Play style afro.
*pumps fist*
"Ultimate DJ?" That robotic retard wouldn't know a turntable if it bit him on the ass!
