Scary amount of 'Kill Obama' levels in LittleBigPlanet 2 photo

Hey guys, did you hear that Barack Obama is a bad president? He is such a bad president, actually! We should do something to assert our political beliefs and take a stand for what we believe in? How about we create a level in LittleBigPlanet 2 where we get to kill the president? THAT WILL SHOW HIM!

It's always embarrassing when you get a bunch of repugnant teen gamers talking about politics, but LittleBigPlanet 2 has allowed these pimply pundits to express themselves in worryingly creepy ways. Quite a few Obama-themed levels are popping up in the game, with a variety of unsettling/stupid titles such as:

  • obama kill read description
  • defeat obamas
  • hêârt if ù häte ôbámå ( seriously ) h4h
  • m odes to kill obama
  • stupid obama
  • KILL OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • arrest obama for life

And it goes on like this. I've decided it's now reasonable to assume that the emotionally unstable jerkoffs who whine over LittleBigPlanet 2 reviews are also extremist Tea Party Members. I have arrived at this conclusion using the science

PS3: It only does impotent political rage!

There's something about the absurdity of this that I find strangely hilarious.

Careful, Jim. You're just asking people to once again accuse you of hypocrisy and point to your Jimquisition about non-gaming (ie political/celeb) bullshit in gaming journalism.

Anyone making levels like this shouldn't have any say-so as to what goes on in the political world.

redeemer you have missed the point, he said that using a non gaming news story and tacking games onto it, here this story has gaming integral to the story. Unless you are being ironic, in which case, ok.

I am always pretty impressed with how many people seem to think that the President actually affects their everyday lives. Life is bad right now, so it must be the case that the President is bad!

This shit is just pathetic. Even if you dislike the president, death threats and idiocy like that help you in no way other than potential jail time. That death threat stuff is illegal. Look it up.

I dunno. Some of them do have consistent 5 star ratings. That said, it's probably the creators friends.

What will be interesting if the FBI or secret service see this and subpoena Sony for the profile information for those level authors. Just from the names alone, some of those levels could be taken as threats against the life of a President. If some of those levels then actually detail committing the act, these idiots could find themselves in very hot water very quickly.

This is funny.

I can't believe anyone would take this seriously. People had all kinds of 'kill Bush' and related bullshit back in that day, the only difference is here they've found a medium which can even make violent assassination plots seem cuddly and adorable instead of plastering it on a bumper sticker.

I'm not surprised. We're talking about a country that gets enraged at the idea of a free national healthcare service and who thinks it's perfectly normal and encouraging for a politician to start out a party political broadcast with the line "I'm not a witch".

The American public? The youth of America in particular? Politics? I gave up a long time ago.

As a member of the Tea Party, I find any threat against any president to be completely evil. I hope you do know the great majority of Tea Party members want President Obama to live a long life. Only have four of those years in the white house. The rest, he can go back to Chicago.

Defeat Obama, I've got no problem with. He is a rotten incompetent president. But threatening his like is crossing the line. We don't need those clown with us.

You Destructoid people must really think that the Tea Party is responsible for Tucson.

Eh. I saw my share of "Assassinate Bush!" Starcraft mod levels back in the day. Didn't really give them much notice.

They're just jerkwads looking for attention, the best option is to not give it to them. Also I lol at anyone who thinks this is indicative of some greater problem in society.

This is funny, but it's mainly because kids tend to mimic their parent's political stance without the parent's morals or restraints.

It's expected.

Anyways, I just tend to flag them and move on. I don't want my brothers mucking about in levels like those.

@ Ace Flibble

Are you completely ignoring the fact that the Democrats dug that small bit out of her history and constantly plastered it everywhere they could and used it to basically say she wasn't qualified for the position?

I'd say she's more in the right to defend herself than the left was to dig up a comment from a talkshow years ago and make it out like she's a terrible person.

Seriously I know Jim's straight but the amount of men on this site asking to lick his bum for pleasurable purposes is well interesting. Jim Sterling Straight Gay Icon. I guess you know you've made it when that happens.

As for the Tea Baggers. Mostly this is probably a bunch of children of Tea Baggers. Mom and Dad sit all day in their trailer and bitch about taxes before driving their kids (probably like 8 of them) on public roads to a public school and then going out to buy groceries with their food stamps. Then the kids get home and think they are clever by making an Anti-Obama level because they hear mom and dad talk about how he's ruining the country.

Makes sense. These people should probably have their PSN accounts banned though.

@KwikPwn: I'm hoping that Fox News ignores this along with everyone else. Besides it not being the least bit newsworthy, giving these guys attention would do nothing but encourage them.

Unfortunately, the media isn't known for that kind of restraint. I can see the headlines: "VIDEO GAME ENCOURAGES CHILDREN TO KILL THE PRESIDENT!" "ARE TEA PARTIERS PRACTICING A PLANNED ATTACK ON OBAMA VIA VIDEO GAME?"

@Krakn: This non-racist, non-religious-zealot conservative doesn't usually like shooters and almost never plays M-rated games in general. Strange, huh?

Whatever. American politics are a total sham in the first place, and any person standing behind FOX News or CNN's version of the story are easily-manipulated idiots. Which, quite coincidentally, is a demographic that covers 95% of the national demographic populace.

We're fucked. They know it. And that's why our freedoms are about be become theoretical at best. We were too stupid to see the truth for ourselves, and now we're going to pay the price of that blind, arrogant stupidity. Keep watching - Democrat, Republican...they're the same behind closed doors. And they're all depending on us to keep squabbling so the real work can get done.

@Rob Horine: Nope, don't blame you for that. However, I do blame your party for a huge number of signs I've seen at your events that have pictures of nooses, pictures of guns pointing at the White House, and (my all-time favorite) the plentiful uses of homophobic and racial slurs. That I do blame your party for.

And don't pull that "most of us are sane, those are just a few people" bullshit line. When I see those signs at those events, the rest of the attendees nod in very visible agreement with them.
