Our own Nick Chester reviewed and didn't love Capcom's latest, Lost Planet 2. I felt like I enjoyed what I played of it more than Nick did, and some of the other outlets reviewed it a bit more favorably. Overall, the game's still a mixed bag, and it all combines toward a pretty average review score and a pretty lukewarm reception.

But Japan? They're eating it up! Lost Planet 2 for the PS3 was the best-selling game in Japan last week, beating out Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and more. Hell, even the Xbox 360 version was the fifth best-selling game last week, according to Meda Create's sales numbers. Mind you that Xbox 360 games don't always chart in the top 10 in Japan.

While we admit it wasn't the strongest week for gaming competition in Japan, that's still something, and definitely a warmer debut than we had here for the game.
