Say goodbye to Free Radical and hello to Crytek UK photo

Following Tuesday's news of TimeSplitters and Haze developer Free Radical being picked up by Crytek, it's now been confirmed that the studio has seen a name change. From this point forward, we will all have to refer to Free Radical as Crytek UK.

On the acquisition, Crytek boss Avni Yerli had this to say: "The combination of this team, the Crytek network and our CryENGINE technology will be a foundation for outstanding gaming experiences and a magnet for the best talent in the UK."

So, TimeSplitters 4 with a Crysis-like level of graphics, confirmed? Personally, I'm really going to miss seeing the name "Free Radical." It had a certain ring to it, y'know what I mean?

For the record, I only used a Haze image because I've pretty much used all of the good TimeSplitters ones on Destructoid already. :D

How the fuck does Crytek buy anything? They must've been in bad shape.

They can buy FR because they deserve every penny they got from Far Cry and Crysis, and they got quite a few pennies, despite the proposed piracy rates.

@A New Challenger's post
"I'm going to start calling them Chained Radical."

Or FreeCry, CryRad, FreeCy Radical, Radical Crying.

Can anyone do worse than these?

C'mon Timesplitters 4. I'll buy 2 copies if it comes out.

But as Archwright said, I hope that if they do release it, it has the same charm and humor the previous TS had. That was one of the elements that I loved from the series... aside from the bots. The bots were awesome.
