It's been awhile since we heard any solid information on the SAW videogame direct from publisher Brash Entertainment, but it seems like tomorrow's release of SAW V (yes, that's a "five") has brought it out of its shell.

Brash has revealed that the Unreal Engine 3.0-powered SAW videogame will hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in October of 2009, likely to coincide with the no-brainer arrival of SAW VI in theaters. The game will have its own unique storyline, and will explore events that take place in between the first and second film in the series.

Brash says they're working closely with SAW's creators, Leigh Whannell and James Wan, so if anything, the game is likely to deliver twists and scares, as well as a potential bloodbath. What they don't mention is who will be developing the game, or any information on what kind of game we should be expecting. First-person? Third-person? Point-and-click adventure?

Who knows, but we'll ping Brash and see what we can find out. In the meantime, do us a favor and don't talk to strangers.

[Update: Brash tells us the SAW game willbe a third-person, action/horror survival title. It's being developed by Zombie, along with Brash's in-house producer David S. Cohen.]

Im am actually curious as to what they are going to do with this game and where they could go with it......

I do want to see Saw V though and its surprising that my GF likes the Saw quadrilogy tripple twin pack series as well.

I hope to God the gameplay is like Trapt, the evil Mouse-Trap-like PS2 game. It was soooo fun.

I'm with Pendelton. I enjoyed Trapt greatly because of all the traps. :D

I'm very interested. But.. still skeptical.

No way they could go all the way the movie went. You know, because when it's in a game, it's a thousand times worse than in a movie. I predict lollipops and butterflies!

"to leave this room you must rub a wet lollipop in your cheek"
"-Oh please God, no, it will be all STICKY"

I can almost feel the terror.

If this turns out anything like all the other games Brash has put out, this is going to be terrible. Fuck you Brash for putting out that god damn Alvin and the Chipmunks piece of shit. Having to test your game was one of the worse things I ever subjected myself to.

Yeah, I'm not expecting much from any game made from a movie. But I just now got done watching Saw IV for the first time, and it was pretty good, I want to see Saw V. I just like the way that Jigsaw works, it's great.

r u sure about this game being real??

im not a 100% sure but Leigh Whannell and James Wan sold the rights and all the new movies are differnt writers and what not..i could be wrong.

i hope they don't do a point and click, well it comes very well to the series, but i hope they innovate with someone at least impressive. And im gonna watch all the SAW movies tonight waiting for the New one ^^

It always is that the games always take on a bad version of the movie.. much of all the games do...

though... being a game itself... it might just pull though...
