San Francisco: Play the new Resident Evil games this week photo

Capcom is hosting a Fright Club this Thursday at the Mezzanine in San Francisco. Much like their Fight Clubs, this will be your chance to play Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City and Resident Evil: Revelations before their releases.

Bonus! There are a ton of acts performing which include Murs, The Alchemist and Ohno, David Banner, DJ QBert, Dan the Automator, Domino of Hieroglyphics and DJ Goldenchyld. The first 200 people in line will also receive an exclusive gift.

Full details over on Capcom-Unity and the Facebook invite page. Who's going?!

Wish I could attend this event, I'm actually really hyped for both of these games.

Is it bad that I'm interested solely because of David Banner?

Not to say I'm not interested in either of these titles, but I wasn't interested in the event.

Sounds a lot too hipster-friendly for my tastes.

I'd love to get my hands on the new ORC.

Revelations and Racoon City seem to form a split between RE fans; those that enjoy the action based (multiplayer) of RE5, and those that enjoy the creepy isolation of RE4.

I prefer the latter. Preordered with Circle Pad,January 27th baby!

@Perpetual Struggle Those are all hip-hop acts that are honestly way outside of the hipster circle

@PrinceHeir I know exactly what you mean, brother. Although I'd switch the tramp face they gave her in this game for her REmake one.

Also, my entire faith in the Resident Evil series rests on the shoulders of these two games. If they are 100% fantastic, I'm not going to invest any more of my hopes into the series. I'll save them for future Valve and Kojima games or something.

@Masterball - and what about the fans of survival horror as found in RE,2,3,0,CV? I liked RE4, but it wasn't a Resident Evil game aside from three characters and a title, and RE5... Uhg.

I'm actually looking forward to ORC because at least it returns to a sensible location for a zombie horror game, and it might be the closest thing to a remake of RE2/3 (aka a return to Raccoon City) that we ever get.

Changed my mind. If I can get one of my buddies to come with me then I'm going. Are any Destructoid staff going to be there?

@tigervomit: Yeah! Tara, Wesley and a few others should be coming through. I sadly have to miss it :(
