Samba de Amigo maracas confirmed photo

Confirmation is pretty easy to get if you have the rumored equipment in your hand, while standing next to a spokesman at an official event. It wasn’t me with the maracas, but Gamekyo’s recent trip to the Samba de Amigo section of the Japan Expo revealed the peripherals in action. Even better, the Sega spokesman at the event confirmed that the game would ship with the two colorful attachments that we questioned last week.

An interesting aside to this is that Samba de Amigo can also be played with just the Wii Remote. So, perhaps that bundle we caught a glimpse of was like a Rock Band version of Samba de Amigo. Hopefully, we don’t find ourselves on Sega’s customer support line a few hours after release because the attachments snap in half.

I have to say, I’ve been getting the rhythm twinge again after covering this game. While I probably will not display my awesomeness with maracas in front of a crowd, or even a friend, I wonder just how fun Samba will be. Are you guys going to snatch this up when it hits this August? Or is this just looking like an attempt to display what acid does to the brain after years of excessive use?

[Thanks, Conrad!]

My mate had this on DC with the maracas, it was too much fun for me to overlook it now, but I;ll wait till the price drops a bit.

I never had dreamcast so never go to play this, I'll probably pick it up for some drunken tomfoolery

Oh Thank Gods... I got worried that I'd have to make my own maracas, to really appreciate it :|

Oh well, bring on the Nintendo Wii Ball-in-a-Cup, Elasticated Frisby, Knife and Fork attachments, clapper board and other vital plastic mouldings that will push up the price of each game by £5-10.

I already have this game. It's sitting in my attic in a box rotting away.

haha. isn't the whole point of using the wii, using your imagination to mimic the on screen actions with the remote? i mean using "maracas" is what we first think of when we make funny gestures in relation to the wii. (that, and jerking off.)

but the non-douchebag side of me thinks that this is good. this game ruled.

I fully support this, as long as they don't inflate the price for the maracas.

While I never had the maracas for the Dreamcast one, it quickly became one of my favorite games. Now that I have the cance to play it properly, albeit on a different system, Im going to pounce on this like Monty Brown.
