In an interview with Shacknews, Telltale CEO Dan Connors has revealed that he has hopes to bring the popular and critically adored Sam & Max episodics to Xbox Live Arcade and the Wii’s Virtual Console.
When asked about recent job postings with his company relating to Microsoft and Nintendo’s consoles, Connors had this to say:
Well, we're hoping to get [Sam & Max] on to both consoles, with Live Arcade and Virtual Console -- I'm sorry, on all three consoles! But we're starting with Wii and Xbox, on both of their online services and retail as well. We want to open as much distribution as possible and reach as many people as possible, so when we go out and talk to a license holder we can say, "Hey, we can get your license in front of all these people. Come with us and we'll make sure it's a great product." The distribution channel drives a lot of that, especially if you're independent and you're an emerging media publisher. I think there's some room for us to grab a stake.
I have on occasions been seen wearing my “I [heart] Classic Adventure Games!” sandwich board and I have always thought that the Wii would be the perfect platform for old school point-and-click adventures, so, needless to say, this news makes me very happy. I am not saying that I had anything to with this recent resurgence of adventure games, but, hey, never underestimate the power of a good sandwich board.
Does this mean that more adventure games are going to be coming to the consoles? Here’s hoping. But just in case, I am putting on my “Adventure Games 4-Ever!” cut-off T right now.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
also, how will this fit on the wii flash mem? all episodes together are larger than 500 megs.
Dunno how the controll system would be on it though.
Still, awesome news.
No PS3 version though? Now there's a surprise.
