Sam & Max coming to the Wii this August (now with box art!)

Sam & Max coming to the Wii this August (now with box art!) photo
     Releases

As someone who has the worst PC on the planet (seriously, it barely runs Notepad), I was more than excited about the news that Sam & Max – Season 1 would be coming to the Wii. As everyone was enjoying Sam & Max’s newest adventures on their fancy post-1996 computers, I had to sit alone in a dark room with only the amazing memories of Hit the Road to keep me company.

Well, it looks like I will only have to live in the shadow of my loneliness for a few more months! According to the DreamCatcher Games product page, it looks like Sam & Max – Season 1 will be coming to the Wii in August of this year. In addition to this new release date information, there also seems to be some official box art! Look, it’s Sam and Max!

What do you think? Are you planning on giving the Wii version of this game a try? What do you think of the simple, yet effective box art?

I still can't get past the first episode of Season One. Not because it's hard, but because..........

...it's just not funny or entertaining at all. IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME PLEASE HELP!!! I got it for my birthday in January and I just can't do it. Maybe it's just not meant to be, or maybe cause I think the detective genre smells like farts, even if the detective is a doggy.

That price is right.
I tried out the episode that was free, and it was pretty funny, but it was also impossibly obtuse. I couldn't figure out how to get into the white house, or figure out if I was supposed to just collect items and go away, so I sort of gave up on the game.
Might make more sense if I start from the beginning and get into the rhythm of it, and August is a dead time of year for games.

this is a very good thing. If the wii now had anything, it's adventure games.

HELL YHEA !!

Sam & Max is some old school awesome adventureness.

I always thought the Wiimote would work well for adventure games. There was an article on it at slashdot around the time the Wii was launched but i thought it was never going to happen. glad it did.

Never played any of the old ones, but have heard almost all positive things about both the old and new ones. Definitely going to check this out. Especially at that price.

I can understand complaining about playing a game at a computer desk, but the idea that your computer can't run THIS? That's insane, or you didn't even bother to try. This game should run on PCs from like 6 years ago (maybe even later)!

If there is all of this bitching about it, I might as well buy it.

Is this going to be full-price? Because I've already got Steam, and I have the impression that the average Wii owner may not even know who Sam and Max ARE, much less why there's more than one season.

Now I get to see what the big deal is since my PC can't run shit. It can barely run this website!

....oh wait, no I'm not. Come September I won't have a Wii anymore. Damn College....

I downloaded the free episode and I loved what I played of it, but my computer barely ran it and I ended up deleting it for space without beating it. I am definitely picking this up. Nice price tag too.

Definitely looking forward to this, but when I pick it up really depends on the price. Paying $50 for a game just seems like too much. But maybe I'm just getting ridiculously cheap in my old age.

Look, you're gonna beat the whole season in a month or less if you're into this kind of thing, so you might as well just go get a month subscription to GameTap and you'll get BOTH seasons (plus almost a thousand of other games) for like $10.

In fact, they might even still have their "first month 99 cents" thing going on so hey, Sam & Max for a buck. I bought a year subscription for $60 and I regret NOTHING!
