I still go back to SR2 and find shit to do with my buddy after investing a ridiculous amount of time into it. I barely even bothered playing SRTT once I finished the main story missions. Everything in that game was so fucking shallow.
SR2: Go take over the weed business at a college campus; harass people.
SRTT: Take this floppy dick bat and do shit with it.
SR2: Here's a large, incredibly varied world to play around in.
SRTT: yeah, this world's vertical and shit but you'll get lost because it's all basically the same.
Kinda bad when what is basically the same map on steroids was world's better than their "brand new" one.

People prefer Volition stick to SR1 and SR2, which even though I enjoyed, were mediocre GTA clones. SR: The 3rd let Volition establish their own game in enjoyable and crazy ways. It had better graphics, gun combat, a more inventive and enjoyable story, etc.
I love Saints Row: The Third better than any other Saints Row.

Welp, I was excited to at least see one more part of SR that had adult humor in it. Now that Rubin is involved with what was supposed to be an expansion pack, I have a feeling that what "Enter the Dominatrix" could have been is going to turn to dust and we are just going to see SR turn to shit

I was really excited for Saint's Row 3, and ended up disliking it quite a bit. The thing that bugged me the most was that all the side missions from the previous games somehow became the primary missions, with little to no story or connective tissue to make them actually relevant.
So disappointing.

At the beginning of SR3 I was with you people on how it wasnt measuring up to SR2, but it got more fun as it went along and I ended up liking the total product of SR3 alot more than SR2. Its a much tighter, polished experience and didnt feel like SR1.5 which SR2 essentiall was. I'm glad they are making this into a proper sequel instead of just some desperate attempt to keep the company above water. SR3 is the reason that THQ didn't go out of business, and I think shoving out the expansion one year later won't net you them the same success they had last year with the franchise.

I really like the idea that instead of milking the fans by putting out a super-sized DLC that you;d have ot pay extra, they will just fold that content into the full sequel that was already under development. Hopefully when they are talking about making it 'bigger, better, more over the top', they will focus on mainly making the level design and gameplay variety bigger and better, as SR3 even though i like it was sort of a step back in some of those ways from SR2. SR3 was already at the limit (slightly over in some parts) for what they could credibly put in in terms of 'over the top', so i hope instead of trying to push the limit of the zaniness they can just take the style and humor at the level its at now and figure out how to tell even more engaging stories at around that level. Not wanting a 'serious' SR4 doesn't necessarily imply that we want an even more ridiculous one either.
Reading through all these DLC defense comments... I smell AstroTurf. There's only 3 logical conclusions... 1. These people don't care they were ripped off. 2. Too stupid to realize they were ripped off. 3. Getting paid to say they weren't ripped off.
The "season pass" was a joke. What? 2 or 3 pieces of content that should have been included in the full game in the first place since they were advertised in-game (genki bowl and gangstas in space)

Well alright then. This was one of the few dlc packs I would ever consider buying, but a new game is better. As long as they keep SR3's formula I'm buying. You guys begging for a return to the make up of the first two games are nuts. Except for being loaded with crap dlc SR3 puts them to shame.

Wait, I'm confused, wasn't some bigwig just complaining about Saint's Row 3 being an embarrassment? Now some other honcho was so blown by the DLC they've decided to upgrade it to a $60 purchase - or is it the same guy?
I have a feeling the fourth will be very similar to the third in size, and in variety of game play. Basically Saints Row is becoming THQ's new cash cow. Sadly that's usually never a good thing for the fans.

Saints Row has never been my thing, really. I liked the first one because it gave us all a taste of what a next gen San Andreas could be like back in 2006. Never played SR2 or SR3. But hey, if the guys at Volition can push out a semi-sequel in less than 2 years and the game is quality, why not? Without SR3, THQ wouldn't exist anymore. Let these guys do what they do best.
If SR4 is to be like 2 with dabs of 3 then my faith will have been restored in the franchise. If it's just like 3 then I may pass it up. After playing 2 (Both by myself and through Co-op) I was disappointed that after eagerly waiting for 3, it was a major downgrade compared to 2. Simple things like clothing were limited in 3 and many of the abilities had been removed (like picking up certain props like trash bags etc).
