The folks at THQ have wasted no time getting the word out about Saints Row: The Third. Trailers, demos, and promotional material. They even went so far as to release their own new trailer on GTA5 day (How dare they?!). The game is finally hitting shelves Tuesday, but they're not quite done hyping it.
This trailer isn't as awesome as the others... Still gunna be killer though! I'm so tempted to just quit my job so I can play this and Skyrim all day everyday.
my problem with these videos they keep showing, is they havnt shown anything really new. its always the same shit, the dildo, genki and stag vehicles.
wheres all the normal cars, any other bikes? what about melee weapons other than the dildo? i assume they are just showing the funny stuff. but im hoping this doesnt mean abunch of shit is not in the game just so they release it as dlc later.
like how many actual weapons are there. minus the upgrades? same goes for cars etc? what about planes other than the vtol? what about the monster truck? is destruction derby still in it? how about the fighting rings like in the jail and stuff?
@Congo, I was talking about their work with GTA since San Andreas. GTA IV was simply not fun and 5 looks like more of the same. Red Dead was alright, not particularly my cup of tea, but I can see how people like it.
@konnery you dont find it odd they only show the same 3 weapons and vehicles and activities in every single video and preview?
cause after them saying "we are giving the player more options" to only limit the stuff they show seems odd to me. considering the initiation station is extremely limited compared to SR2. even though they said it was bigger and better.
and every preview shows the same weapons and things to do. unless all the stuff they arnt showing is stuff from SR2 thats still in there, so no need to show it. but the way games go these days i can easily see vehicles,weapons,activities etc that should have just been in the game coming down the line in the "40 weeks of DLC". and that doesnt make me happy. i love SR, and dont want to have to pay 100$ for the same amount of stuff in SR2
Well I'm pretty sure they aren't going to just show everything there is to show in the game in some trailers. Most of these clips have probably been chopped up and stuck all throughout the trailers so they don't need to go record more. Same goes for the Initiation Station. I really doubt they'd toss every clothing item into the game into the Initiation Station. Some things are best left to be discovered.
And yes, while they COULD go the way of the "DLC douchebags" and release a lot of content in their "40 weeks" that could/should have been in the game. There's been nothing said about it. I personally think that a DLC a week is mainly going to boil down to extra crap like the Gears Weapons skins. I can't really see them skimping that much content in an open-world game, that as far as I know has already been reviewed by multiple sources that don't say anything about a lack of content.

SR3's being developed in house rather than ported, so it shouldn't be as crap as that.

Plenty of games were ported in house but sucked, like GTA 4 PC version. Also, the lack of PC footage really makes me insecure... ;/
