THQ doesn't mince its words. The publisher will be rolling out promotion for Saints Row 3 this year, and the hype has already started, with "mindblowing" being the watch-word for this upcoming sandbox sequel. Not that THQ wants to overstate its game or anything.
"PR and the marketing for that is going to start rolling out this year." says core games VP Danny Bilson. "The next Saints Row is mind-blowing. New tech; mind-blowing. I can't talk about that too much but it's mind-blowing."
Did you hear that Saints Row 3 is mindblowing? That is a thing we heard.
Saints Row 3 is 'mind-blowing' - THQ [CVG]

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
New tech is good news from THQ, unless that means they skimp on the lunacy.
Agreed. There were classy suits and shirts etc. in SR2, but more would be nice. The Cockney voice was amusing.
So I've heard. Just haven't been bothered to scoop it up. It might be my last purchase since I'm gaming cheap these days.
I never liked GTA but for some reason GTAIV really won my heart. I think last gen GTA's just tried to do so much and so much of it was broken. It was quantity over quality.
I would of totally agreed with that a few months ago with SR2 fresher in my mind, but I recently did a playthrough of both of them, and whilst SR2 is more wacky and is much easier, GTA4 is just fucking incredible. I'd forgotten how incredible it is. Just made me even wetter for Red dead...
Color me interested.
But GTAIV had this weight and presence that was inescapable, and I've not felt it replicated to date.
That said - I'm definitely on board for SR3, mind-blown or not.

LOL
I hear "y0 y0 y0" in any game and I turn it off
On another note BRING ON A NEW RED FACTION. RF:Guerilla was amazing! I loved it from beginning to end on my PC.
Man, that was a lot of complaining! Sorry 'bout that. Regardless, I'm tempted to be fair and give SR3 a chance...
Ugh, an I hope this new tech makes it easier for them to optimize the coding for the PC.
So yeah, Saints Row 3: Mindblown.
That said I didn't like San Andreas at all which may be why it's such a tough sale for me whereas GTAIV was really good.
I'm gonna pick it up definitely.
I also like Mercenaries so it may appeal to that side of me.
Amazing what some genuinely fun gameplay can do for a title.
Mindblowing? I doubt that. A whole lot of fucking fun? For certain.

I've squeezed every drop of fun out of the demo over and over if that counts. :P
definitely was my view of Saint's Row before I played it. Always thought of it as a crappy GTA clone, despite reviews to the opposite. Started playing and immediately pulled a holy shit when I made a Cockney Asian dude. Just that alone got me hooked.
Sure, it's a gang-centered game, but to me it was a hell of a lot more fun than San Andreas, if less open-worlded.
