Sadness is DEFINITELY coming by Fall 2009 photo
     wii

Sadness is an ironic title for Nibris' vaporware Wii game, because its coverage thus far has been invariably humorous. Despite not having a publisher, Nintendo being unaware of its existence, and only a handful of concept art even suggesting it might exist one day, Nibris is still claiming that this game is getting made at some point, and has even gone so far as to state that the game will be arriving by Autumn 2009.

Our very own Nick Chester challenged Nibris to prove him wrong about Sadness when the company first confessed it was delayed until '09. Nibris never picked up Destructoid's thrown gauntlet, probably because they were too busy making more concept art.

So, let's have a show of hands -- who thinks Sadness will come out at some point, and who thinks that Nibris might as well just open a DeviantArt account and leave gamers alone?

Damm, man... I used to have such high expectations about this title. It actually seemed cool, cult, avant-guarde, all slavic and stuff. I even got to a point of hoping Nibris could actually make their way out of being neraly-anonymous and perhaps become a rather notorious Wii development team. One can dream.
Maybe they should just lay low as of now. Releasing concept art after concept art is just pissing off the 30 people who like them out of the 150 people who know them.

Woohoo!....I think.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for now, but I think Nibris might have bitten off more than they could chew with this game. >.>

I can't understand why anyone got hyped for this ever and even less why some people still care. It's a lame concept even if it were real, which it isn't.

What if it's a game created entirely from pictures of concept art?! They could do that soon. We'd have several hours of "gameplay".

It's a great idea for a game, but that's all it is - an idea. If it somehow makes it out of vaporware, it aint gonna be worth the long wait. If Nibris can prove all of us wrong, awesome, I just don't see it happening.

Why all the hate? Small developers should have the support of the community, don't you think? It might only be a concept at this point, but it's an interesting and hot in my pants sexy one. I mean, nice bitter humor in the article and all, but what the hell is the problem?

Oh, only big developers are allowed to push games back and break promised release schedules, right?

@faultymoose

The problem is this game was originally going to be out like last year and yet all we've seen to this day is concept stuff. They don't have a good track record with their DS game either so there's precedent.

I'm all for supporting indie developers but by this point it feels like they're just dicking people around. All it takes is one clear screen shot to prove the game even exists but they seem to refuse to do that either.

I want this game to be real, but as with most games, until I have an official release date, or at least some gameplay videos, I don't care.

I just want the game.

Im willing to wait till 2009. Spore will keep me busy, so will Rock Band 2. Hell, the Lights In The Sky Tour DVD/The Slip album will keep my busy.

I just want the game. Im not angry, Nibris, I don't even care that much.

Just...alert me when your done.

Gifting me TF2 would be nice as well.

I say it is coming out and is likely to have an underwhelming response; however it will find legs as a cult classic and eventually end up in a 'Bargain Bin Laden' feature here on DToid.

i'm optimistic about it's release cause i really wanna play it...i was angry to hear that it wasn't coming out this year, but i can wait i guess, but waiting indefinitely is never any fun

How can ANYBODY be anticipating a title that's only concept art at this point?

We don't even have gameplay details, and since this IS a Wii game, if we went by the track record of released games thus far, there's a 98% chance it's going to blow.

Honestly, if the "concept" is so good, it'd be picked up by a publisher by now.

I got ahold of a few screenies last year - they looked awesome, but that was it. Nothing since.

Fuck it, I believe nothing until I see a gameplay video.

faultymoose: I haven't seen any evidence that they're actually "developers" of any size. All they've got is a stupid idea and for some reason a lot of idiots got excited about it. That's what the hate is all about.

meh...they've been working on their DS shooter for 4 years and still there's only 1 or 2 15 sec vids showing it off. At this point, I think they should give up.
