Sacred 2 still getting support photo

I'm a fan of Sacred 2. It's one of the few games that are good due to being bad, which is something to be treasured. This is why I'm glad to hear that the game will be getting some sort of expansion, even though Ascaron's financial troubles saw a number of its properties bought by Kalypso.

"Studio 2 (subsidiary company of Ascaron) has the license for Sacred 2 and the devs will continue working at the add-on as they did before," says Ascaron community manager Anca Adelina. "In a nutshell, the add-on is not affected by anything and will come as planned."

I wonder if the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions (for which Sacred 2 has been impressively specialized) will see any of these additions? Due to the company's rather fragile status, I can only imagine the PC version being supported, which is a shame. Consoles really don't have a proper loot 'em up outside of Sacred 2, so it'd be great to see the game getting some extras.

The Xbox version is apparently getting a patch (or is it already live?)... but they haven't mentioned when the PS3 version is getting a patch. While a possible expansion is good news, I'd still rather see a PS3 version patch... dammit, we NEED a pause button on this game!

As noted, an expansion is great news... but wow, the time you can spend with this game is already phenomenal! Each of the 6 characters plays entirely differently and the class based quests are actually some of the more interesting quests in the game. I already have a level 48 Seraphim, a 14 Shadow Warrior, a 10 Inquisitor, a 24 High Elf and a 3 Dryad... and haven't yet loaded up a Temple Guardian class. With the huge amount of side quests constantly distracting me, it will take me a long, long time just to play through with each of the original classes... so if I have to wait 6 months for an expansion, no big deal - but I really would like to see them fix the lack of pause button and the voice chat for online play with the PS3 (which doesn't work with more than 2 people).

This game is worth every dollar I spent for it. It's a "bad" game... but something highly addictive and a genre missing from the PS3 lineup - glad to hear an expansion is coming... but PATCH 1ST please!!

Actually the patch is live on the PS3. It fixes several freeze issues as well as add in the trading off loot for multiplay offline.

I haven't played Sacred. But it did help me turn some friends on to Blind Guardian, because they're awesome.

Y0j1mb0... you must be in Europe. The PS3 update isn't expected here in North America till the end of June (no idea why!)... and I just checked and no update. (I'm in Canada).

Ah well... good to know the update does help with some issues (hopefully voice chat)... though I take it they haven't added a pause function?

I thought Kingdom Under Fire:Circle of Doom was a good loot 'em up.

I haven't noticed any freezing (yet), but it definitely showcases some slowdown issues with multiple characters onscreen. The fact that I can play custom tracks via the XMB while my Seraphim* slices and dices erases any inherent badness.

*only up lvl. 14 so far...sigh

Y0j1mb0 is probably talking about the launch-time patch for the PS3 (1.01). The UK just got a patch (1.40? 1.04? not consistent in their description) which is supposed to be equal to the US 1.01 patch, although it adds a bunch of features that we want. The much desired "next U.S. PS3 patch" is still supposedly coming at the end of the month. This news all trickles out via forum community managers, though, so who knows?

Only patch I got was the one when I bought the game about a month ago.

DAMMIT!! They did it with Sacred; Sacred: Underworld; Sacred: Gold! I knew I should have waited!

It won't matter, I've played S2 for 24 since getting it Thursday. I am quite hooked :|

Some DLC will be welcome though, it's an impressively large game, and I hope they release more of the same :) Though with a couple less bugs.
