Listen up anyone who played the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games. You are all jerks. They are solid games, but you made the game popular and now we have to once again type out all those periods every time we want to talk about its officially confirmed sequel, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, which was officially confirmed to be in development for multiple platforms by developer GSC Game World.
We clearly have no idea what this game will involve, though a wasteland is most likely to pop up here or there. Also a mystery is why the game is called S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 when I thought that S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat was considered the official sequel to the original game. Plus, with S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky being a prequel isn't this technically the fourth game in the series? And what about the console releases of the older games?
Sergiy Grygorovych, CEO of GSC Game World, did have these incredibly generic words to say about the upcoming game: "After the official sales of the series exceeded 4 million copies worldwide, we had no doubts left to start creating a new big game in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe. This will be the next chapter of the mega-popular game players expect from us."

Most underrated game in the past decade in my book.
Had the original not been slightly boring, & a little bit bland, then maybe it would have been underrated, but as it is, it's got a Metacritic rating of 82 - how is that underrated.
Oh, & I didn't/don't have a crap gaming rig, & the game didn't crash, I just turned it off out of mild boredom & the fact that there were more interesting games to play.
Stalker games are hardly underrated.
And let's be honest, even with an epic rig, the original was buggy as hell without a few third party mods (though that didn't stop me from playing the hell out of it).
Sometimes devs concentrate on the console version of the game to ensure big $$$, but that new direction fails most of the time for us PC players. Just stick with the things we like please. Don't throw everything away just because of a new audience.
Generic ass shooter? Okay, yeah, sure. Keep telling yourself that.
The atmosphere of stalker was also second to none, totally glad they're ditching the X-ray engine, whilst it was an atmospheric foundation for the game it was a buggy mess so hopefully the next title will have a bit more polish.
Also, if you read the original article, they said that they're making the same ENGINE, not game, for PC and consoles. I hope they won't port anything.
It ditched alot of awesome concepts it had in the beginning.
A full on sequel is very exciting since I just started Call of Pripyat and the atmosphere in all three games are just unquestionably amazing. Nothing matches the feeling of going into the broken urban area of the Wild Territory at night seeing a vaguely humanoid figure walk, turn it's head at you with glowing inhuman eyes, roar then run into an abandoned warehouse as you just stand there hearing nothing but the moans and howls of the zone coupled with the distant sound of gunfire and human screaming.
That is S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
