Maybe someone will pic up the franchise and make a 3D Ninja Gaiden with a proper story. That would make me happy.
It will be interesting to see how he will work in a Blonde wearing skin-tight leather and giant juggs into the Pacific theater.
I don't see the big fuss over the 3D Ninja Gaiden titles. They really don't click with me. The fact that Itagaki swore never to make a 2D Ninja Gaiden is pretty lame, too, so whatever!
This does sadden me. Although the prospect of a new IP has me excited. It will be interesting to see if he keeps it up. I doubt he will be able too. Kojima said MGS2 would be his last, and MGS4 is right around the corner. lol

Thank goodness he's going to do a WWII game. This is a period of history that has been sorely under represented in gaming.

A WWII game set in the Pacific? This is great, there have been too many games set in thr European theater.

As Shin Oni said, he claimed DOA4 was his last just before it was released, then months later he said he'd work on DOA5 once his work with DOAX2 and NGII were done. He'll change his mind.
Hopefully, there won't be anymore DOAX games, though. They were fun, but completely unnecessary.
Also, where the hell is Code Cronus? Now he wants to do WWII and sci-fi games? Though I'd totally be down for a Team Ninja sci-fi experience, as long as it isn't a flight simulator shooter.

oh man, that'd be awesome! WW2 is an underdeveloped settings that is just ripe for video game-age.

saddened!? i really hope he changes his mind... this games has great chances of becomíng my personal favourite action adventure (until now its a draw between god of war 2 and ninja gaiden black). plz mr itagaki dont quit just yet ;(
