If the rumors turn out to be right, you'll be able to waltz run into your local Walmart soon and nab an Xbox 360 and a $100 shopping card for $200.

This rumor came from a retail tipster that sent it in to Kotaku. As always, don't take this as the Gospel, but there is a little screenshot of some kind attached to the article. It says that the Xbox 360 would be an Arcade unit (of course). It also points to a $148 Blu ray player and a $788 46-inch Panasonic Plasma television. All three would make a nice rig. All of these and other items are said to be going on sale this weekend.

If this pans out, I'll go get one. An Xbox 360 would make a good gift. The $100 gift card? Keep in mind that I'm a full-time blogger. A man's got to eat, so I'm keeping that.

The week number is correct at least. I work there and Walmart's week counting is strange.

I doubt it is a coincidence that a temporary deal on the console just so happens to occur the week of MW2's release. Wal-Mart could be trading software sales in order to move hardware off of shelves (and make more room for Guitar/Band/DJ/Erotica Hero).

I just picked up a brand new PS3 slim for $199.00 (with a trade in of 4 games) at EB Games... so there are certainly good deals out there if you look around. I'll be sending this one to my sister-in-law for Christmas!

This has been confirmed by CheapyD @ CAG to be happening this weekend.

For those that may not remember, Wal-Mart the last two years has had a series of deals leading up to Black Friday on each weekend beforehand in Nov. to generate more sales and not have everything concentrated on just 1 day of craziness.

Even though it's cheap, I still wouldn't stand in line to buy it. I heard getting trampled to death by other store patrons kinda sucks.

The last time I went to one they let us inide the store and had a SINGLE employee watching over each sale station. there were so any people around them that lord knows they had to be piss terrified.

week 41 would in fact be the week of black friday in wal-mart's calender. although ther is nothing in the holiday playbook for my division that lists this deal.

whoever leaked this either works in a different division or they are high up enough to have this info available.

either way, i'd much rather grab the 250gb PS3 Uncharted 2 bundle that Sony should be shipping out any time now.
