Eagle-eyed NeoGAF user TurtleSnatcher did a little squinting and probably gave himself a wicked headache to find this one: a small "Pay to Play" logo on the corner of Samba De Amigo Wii box art found at Gamestop.com. Sure, it's entirely possible that one of Gamestop.com's web guys got bored and decided to mess around in Photoshop. But it seems like this may be a hint that Sega will be offering paid downloadable content for the game when it ships this August. One can only guess that the content will be more songs for the shaking/music game, but I suppose we should rule out new sombreros, either. If Sega is able to offer downloadable songs and content for Samba De Amigo, we expect many an angry Guitar Hero III and Rock Band player may start getting whiny before long.

I would find downloadable songs a perfectly acceptable use of the Pay to Play service. Hopefully it's not something stupid like new hats.
Paying for the Wiis online... Hmm that's a great fucking idea:
Error Code 49785584849303093838447, damn I'm glad I payed for this.
Just put the songs on the disc instead? This DLC thing is getting out of hand.
Samba Digame!
Da Daaaaaaa Da Da!
Am I the only one that is going to stay far... FAR away from this? Or is that just me?
If I were to buy this for Dreamcast, I'd prob have to buy the marachas accessory = $$ Buying it on the Wii, _includes_ built in shakers, but DLC or P2P = $$ ... This game .. It saves me NOTHING!!!1!!
I'm gonna wait for the first guy to crack the DRM and put the songs on an SD card.
Oh Pew you awful, awful human.
:)
A no hard drive console with downloadable content on less convenient "memory card". This will fail. Seriously, why would anyone want to use SD cards to back up their "downloads". My problem back in the Gamecube/PS2 days where keeping up with the stupid cards. I never knew which card had what save.

And then you have to check each and every one.
Nintendo is having an identity crisis. Does it want to appeal to 'casual gamers' or does it want to hang with the rest of the consoles?
I used to like you Nintendo. Go make your money without us.
Do not worry.
You are STILL part of the minority.
Yes, because Sega offering DLC in their game means we should blame Nintendo. Seriously, wtf? Weren't people bitching about the Wii version of Guitar Hero III for not having DLC? This is the sort of thing they should have been offering all along.
DLC is optional, no matter what system it's on. You don't have to buy it. If you think you're getting ripped off because the extra content is not included on the disc, don't pick up the game in the first place. Pesonally, I'm stoked that Samba De Amigo is coming back (awesome game to play with friends), and the possibility of extra songs added later is a definite positive to me.
Mxyzptlk is exactly right, I can't believe how people can find a way to complain about everything. Nobody is forcing you to download anything. For me this is an incredible find, Samba doesn't really appeal to me...at all... BUT the advent of DLC on Wii is very exciting, Nintendo seems to be getting their act together in the online circuit (not hastily of course). But I think at e3 some sort of storage solution must be announced, especially with this new sort of content coming. SD cards are fine, in my opinion. Wii isn't going to get anything huge, but a HDD would be nice if they wanted to do demos...
Interesting it's a third party title to take advantage of this , Perhaps third parties sort of inspired this initiative at Nintendo, like Rock band and Guitar Hero III. Guess it wasn't here in time...
I third what Mxyzptlk said. People complained when the Wii version of Rockband DIDN'T have DLC, and now they're complaining that a new Music games DOES have it.
Make up your mind, gamers.
I'm not a real fan of so much DLC, but I'd certainly welcome track DLC for Samba. Its a great game, that deserves more attention. If a little DLC extends and helps build the popularity of Samba amongst new found casual gamers, as well as hardcore gamers, that's a win win for Sega and Wii.
Go Sega, Go!
Now if Nintendo could just sort a hard drive, and we'd all be happy.

i think i see bigfoot in that zoom.
I'm still hoping there will be a Wii update soon to address this. But then again, maybe I'm being too hopeful.
Error codes for everyone!
I fourth Mxyzptlk.
I love how all these Wii-haters complain that the Wii doesn't have downloadable content, and now that it's finally getting some, they complain about that, too.
Now if Nintendo will allow for external hard drive/flash drive support, we'll be set. And seeing as how they've finally recognized that gamers want more space, there's a chance that this'll actually happen soon.
jeeeeeeeeeeeeeej more ripoff!
If its proper music DLC allied to that Iwata comment from last week then I think Nintendo might have something special to announce at E3.
I'm not sure why someone would want to pay for this game... let alone the DLC.
