Rumortoid: Persona on PSP, according to Hong Kong games mag photo

You see, last summer I specifically asked Atlus if they'd consider bringing back some of the harder-to-find or unreleased Shin Megami Tensei games. They gave me a pretty standard response along the lines of "hopefully," but I saw right through that -- they had to be brinnging one of the Persona games back from the dead. I saw that look in their eyes.

I was hoping it would be the unreleased half of Persona 2, but I'd be more than happy with a re-release of the original title too. According to 1UP, a Hong Kong-based games magazine called GameWave is saying that the PS1 classic is coming to the PSP. They even have a date for a Japanese release: April 30, for 5,040 yen.

I think this rumor sounds pretty solid, and 1UP reminds that this same publication broke the news on other PSP titles like Disgaea 2 Portable and Mobile Suit Gundam: Bonds of the Battlefield.  Of course, this does not promise that a US version is coming, but I know that Atlus likes to take care of us.

Awesome. Would be better though if it hit the states and we actually got the original Japanese version translated.

After finishing Persona 4 and jumping to the fan translation of the first half of Persona 2(on my PSP no less), I'd buy it. Hope the rumor is true.

I could do without P1 (it was okay), but NIS better deliver on Disgaea 2. I've only got a few hundred hours left of game to finish of the original.

Now I wish I had PSP, damn you Atlus, you're always dangling all this JRPG goodness right out of my grasp.

I'd honestly rather have Innocent Sin on PSP than P1

I hope they give it an update treatment and bring it up to par with the 3 and 4 graphically and audibly.

I haven't had a PSP in years, but this would get me back on board.

See, personally, I'd rather have this game on the PlayStation Network, so I can play it on my TV and then transfer it to a PSP if necessary.

See? That's me thinking outside the box. It doesn't happen often.

It doesn't happen often for me, I mean.

That was a joke that could have sounded like I was trying to be a dick.

Probably won't come to the states. Atlus USA keeps saying they'd rather not spend time and money re-translating the game for -any- reason.

Haha, Mark was the guy who was too cool to yell Persona, so instead they had him yell "KICK IT", right?

Is it a remake it just a PSOne classic thing on PSN?

I'm hoping for a good enhanced remake of this and both Persona 2 games on PSP. Brought over here too.

I agree with sadistic. I'd drop money for a unmongled localized version of persona. otherwise my original copy will suit me just fine.

We do need the unreleased part of P2 thought too :(

Shame that this a) isn't a PSN download or some way to play it on my TV and b) is probably not coming out in America. I just picked up Persona 2 (both halves, with the English patch applied to the first half), so I guess I'll have to hold out for some translation group to do a proper translation of Persona 1 someday.

That's funny, I was playing P1 and P2 on my PSP a couple weeks ago.

If NiS released Disgaea 2 on PSP I would be all over it like a fat kid on a cup cake.

I hope they add more save points. I remember once having to go playing for 3 or 4 hours because there were no save points.
