Rumortoid: Paper Mario coming to the Nintendo DS

Rumortoid: Paper Mario coming to the Nintendo DS photo
     DS

Korean Web site Ruliweb seems to think Paper Mario is coming to the DS in July of this year. Said to be a remake of the the Nintendo 64 game, the Web site also says that "more information will appear later."

As with all things that appear in other languages on Web sites I've never heard of, this needs to be taken with a grain of salt. But since you're going to hear it somewhere if not here, I figured it best to get it out there. It's kind of like when I was six and my dad made me watch Scarface, Eraserhead, and Behind the Green Door back-to-back because "better the boy watch 'em with me and a bottle of Jack Daniels than seeing 'em in some sleazy flop house."

So really, there's nothing here to go on other than the word of a random post on Ruliweb. But who would be surprised if Nintendo were to release a port of their now-classic Paper Mario title on the DS? I would. Because if anything, I'd imagine it wouldn't be a remake. It would be a new game that would look and sound exactly like the Nintendo 64 title. Duh.

skullivan: "And where the hell is New Super Mario Bros. 2?"

Hear hear. And it'll need to be either in the vein of Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Mario World, 'cause the lack of items (particularly a flying item) was painful. Put in as many suits and goodies as you can. And bring back the Koopalings, too.

I was just playing the GameCube one before getting sucked into Mario Kart Wii. A DS Paper Mario would be wonderful.

One thing the DS does not have is a shortage of RPGs. On the other hand, it has remarkably few decent platforming games. I would far rather see more of the later. I hated Super Paper Mario a lot, and it has pretty much ended any chances of me trying the earlier games; very not interested in any more.

Just a remake.
Damn, My idea of the "paper-dummy" just went out of the window.
't was an item that would let you draw a character to fool the others in thinking it is him, depending on how well you draw the better it works.

Including me of course!

Here's hoping for something a little above a remake, and nothing like super paper mario. - that was a decent experiment, but I'd rather keep paper mario in the rpg realm.

Even if it is just a remake, I'll still buy it. That was a great game.

If they release this, I might get this over the VC version, if it has new features.

Why remake something already easily available for $10 on VC? I'd rather see a new Paper Mario/Mario & Luigi game.
