Rumortoid: Neversoft ditching Tony Hawk, another dev taking reins? photo

I do not understand this boarded skating that the children do, nor the videogames surrounding it, but what I do know is that a rumor has surfaced concerning Neversoft's non-involvement in the next Tony Hawk game.

It's not too hard a concept to believe, with Neversoft working on Guitar Hero IV which, let's face it, is going to need a lot of work done on it to stop journalists calling it Rock Band again. Robomodo is said to be the developer behind Neversoft's skating franchise, a team that is already confirmed to be working on an Activision-published game.

On the subject of Activision, the publisher is remaining tight-lipped about Tony Hawk's potential new parents. We'll just have to wait for the inevitable confirmation either way.

sorry but since skate, I've lost the little amount of respect I still had for this series :p

Neversoft has milked the Tony Hawk series to the point there is no more milk left. Time for a new cow. GTFO Tony.

I think its about time this games round is over. It was a great game. Very fun, but I'm ready to see a new big title from them. I'm not even really fond on hearing about the main focus being on GH. Lacking Creativity when it comes to releasing new titles. Just the same old stuff. Remade.

As much as I loved tony hawk games , it's over for the "birdman" T.H.U.G was the last good tony hawk everything after that jump the shark while beating a dead horse in midair and threw some skateboarding stickers on the poor dead animal.

Damn, I tohught they were just sitting out this year to re-invent the game. Well Tony Hawk is there winner here, since he was paid a large amount for them to use his name and likeness in games until around 2012 (no lie).

They definitely need to get rid of the series all together or make some huge changes. Anything in between will just be delaying the inevitable.

Wrap your mind around that, Jim.

Why don't they make a game about that? Maybe Ubisoft could make it on DS; it'd compliment their other stellar DS games, such as Dogz Fashion.

If this means we get GUN 2 (or an original IP), then I'm for it. I'm still sad to see the Tony Hawk series go (I'm a TH fanboy), but maybe it IS time for it to die.

Because of Skate 2, or because Neversoft has to learn how to make music games?

Considering Neversoft, and the money they've made on this franchise, I call jim out and think this is another one of his sarcastic posts.

What he must REALLY mean is that they're working on a new GUN.

For some reason this brought back memories of how much I used to enjoy Tony Hawk games. GTA 1, Driver, and Tony Hawk were all I ever used to play on my ps1

I'm gonna go upstream on this one. I love the TH series. The only two I haven't played are THUG2 and American Wasteland, those games are failures. Since then however, Neversoft has only been improving the series. I love the nail the trick modes introduced in Project 8 and Proving Ground. And quite frankly, I think Skate's controls suck. But thats just me.

Good riddance. The TH series was getting stupider and stupider by the month. TO HELL WITH IT!

My guess: they're going to rework the controls. Maybe something that uses the right stick for tricks, or something like that...
