Rumortoid: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 details leaked photo

Despite the fact that I wasn't awarded the game's final achievement (but my wife was ... and we played together!) when I finished Marvel Ultimate Alliance on the Xbox 360, it was an enjoyable little romp. So it's with open arms that I welcome leaked information on the unannounced sequel.

Said to contain over 20 playable Marvel characters (Hulk, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Venom, Human Torch), the game is said to take place during Marvel's popular "Civil War" story arc. The description stolen from found on the Intellisponse Web site also mentions power-fusing abilities, including Storm giving Spider-Man lightning webs. It also states that "experimentation can lead to discovering multiple fusions," so presumably, all manner of combinations will be available.

The rumored title is slated to drop on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and Nintendo DS. If the game is currently in development and outside of concept stage, late July's San Diego Comic-Con seems like a nice place for Activision to make the reveal.

it's comic-tastic (comtastic?) today. Marvel sure is spoiling us (Stan Lee sure is whoring his mind-children out greedily today)

The first one sold well enough to warrant a second one? Really?

Didn't the first UT have more than 20 characters? Or are my rose-tinted glasses on this morning?

I just feel like 20 isn't all that many for a story arc that literally encompasses the entirety of the Marvel Universe. Anyone else feel like they need more characters?

I don't want the normal headliners, I want more 2nd or 3rd tier characters to have an impact/be playable, just like in the actual Civil War arc. Maybe that's just me.

Either way, it should be cool. M:UA was cool, and following a real story arc like Civil War would be beast. Also, now you would be able to pit Cap vs Iron Man without the nonsense of a pure fighting game. Just saying. Do want.

Marvel is a beast lately. Keep cranking out the movies and games.

Do want! It could be set in Disneyland and I'd still want it. Even if it's just M:UA with shinier graphics and new levels.

M:UA was fun but God, Civil War was pure shit. I really don't want to have to play a game through that stupid plot. Will the Wii version actually get Samus and Link this time?

Great news, I loved the first one. I considered going through it again in hard mode recently, but meh...Ninja Gaiden comes first.

It would be jizz-tastic if they included Marvel Zombies alternate costumes.

Can't wait, but will still be pissed if they do the same thing by only giving certain additional characters to 360 owners.

While the Civil War arc was going on, I was thought that it would make an interesting video game, and hoped that the next Ultimate Alliance would somewhat incorporate it.

With this 'leaked', I'm getting really excited for the sequel. The first title was a really solid and entertaining experience, but after becoming reacquainted when MvC2, I really hope they can include more heroes/villains this time around. Somehow.

I hope they keep Deadpool, even though his role in Civil War was near non-existant... I wonder if you'll choose a side right away, or switch off between the heroes you can use throughout, or something else...

Definitely looking forward to a sequel, even though I still need to finish the first one. Not so thrilled about it being based on Civil War though.
