Rumortoid: Lego Harry Potter will happen, Dumbledore resurrected photo

According to an unidentified source that CVG was able to acquire, the next Lego movie-to-game adaptation will be none other than Harry Potter. That means Lego developer Traveller’s Tales will have to slightly alter their character models to reflect school robes and messy hair instead of space armor and stubble. In Harry Potter’s case, they’ll also have to toss in some eyeglasses.

There isn’t any word on the important stuff like publisher or platform, but this rumor has reared its head before. Persistance of murmurings aside, the important thing to remember is that Traveller’s Tales has reached across the publishing aisle several times. They have worked with both LucasArts and Warner Brothers.

I can’t say I’m much of a Lego videogame enthusiast, so I asked a fan about this news. She said that she was “excited” about the rumor and added that it sounded better than “those other Harry Potter games.” This fan has never played a Harry Potter game before.

I bet it's the exact same thing as the other Lego games.

I was actually expecting this WAAAAY before LEGO Batman came out. It actually seems like a better fit than Batman anyway.

Since Lego Harry Potter toys actually exist, this seems more than plausible.

I'm a fan of the Star Wars Lego game. But really that was because I was a fan of Star Wars...and Lego. Same with Batman. I don't think I'll pick up this one. I'd rather see Starship Troopers Lego. How awesome would that be?

Hmm. I loved the two Lego Star Wars games, but I regret to say that I got bored with Lego Indy. I think the concept has worn itself a bit thin :(

Hm. I'll probably get this to play like 3 characters like I did Lego Batman just to play the Joker, Harley, and Scarecrow. In this case it'd probably be Sirius Black, Snape, and whatserface, Bellatrix? But yes, mostly the actors. I mean Lego Gary Oldman, Alan Rickman, and Helena Bonham Carter? Come on, that can't fail. (Also, I just realized 2/3 of those were in Sweeney Todd. I wonder what Tim Burton's Harry Potter would be like.)

Also, there was already Lego Harry Potter. I have it sitting in a box behind me right now. It was more construction-based and kinda boring, but it was still fun as hell. Ah well.

I really enjoyed the LEGO Star Wars and Indiana Jones games. That was all, I wasn't interested in LEGO Batmam so I didn't event try it. I think I'll pass on this one...

I like Harry Potter and I like Legos, but I wouldn't pay full price for this game. Half maybe. MAYBE.

The Lego games do a great job at scratching that "MUST COLLECT EVERYTHING" itch. Interested.
