Rumortoid: Kratos to be a playable character in Soulcalibur IV photo

In the latest issue of EGM, rumormonger Quartermann drops a hint that Kratos (of God of War fame) will soon be revealed as the next playable character in the PlayStation 3 version of Soulcalibur IV.

I would link to some reputable source with proof that this is happening, but I’ve got nothing. All I am going on is the word of some mysterious figure in a popular videogame magazine who, for all I know, is actually a cute kitten. Oh, look, Mittens’ ball of yarn just rolled towards those copies of God of War and Soulcalibur! IT’S OFFICAL, KRATOS IS IN THE GAME!

If this is true, though, I know for certain which console version of Soulcalibur IV I am purchasing. Blades of Chaos vs. lightsaber? Yes, please.

What do you think? Too much cross-promotion or the greatest thing ever?! Is Soulcalibur becoming the new Super Smash Bros.?

Most facepalming post of the month...

There was one unique character for each console in SC2.

Those are SC3 character costume options. More like brief references than actual characters.

And your list of characters you want for SC4 are all 3rd party choices that could be made with said Character Maker and stand no chance of being in SC4. It's comparable to a person's random Brawl list.

They're not even 3rd party. All of those series are owned by Namco.

in a way it would be fucking great, but on the other hand, cratos is so fast and has such huge reach with those chainswords of his, that most of the other chars wouldn't be able to touch him :p ( except maybe Krillin )

I had a cute little kitty named Kratos. He jumped in the toilet once, and his claws were pretty much the Blades of Chaos. Thats how he got his name. We bought GoW2 just before gettin him, had no kitty carrier, and my arms were covered in bleeding scratches by the time we got him home. But then my ex took him and gave him away.

My head just exploded. Now all they need to add is Solid Snake and Sonic, and they might just beat Nintendo in sales. Jesus...

I was really excited about Kratos from Tales of Symphonia being in SCIV. But GoW Kratos has me less then excited.

3rd party ??? only Heavenly Sword is made by a 2º party all the others are 1º party games .
-----------
In Rock Band ,for example ,you can do all sorts of look a likes, but in SC 3, those unique items are there so that the player can make them.
----------
A Bralw list would have total random characters with diferent types of atacks. All my characters use a sword or fancy gloves.

There are 3 possible counterparts for the 360:

1. Kaim (Lost Oddysey) - Seth would fit in nicely as well, if they tripled the size of her breasts
2. Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden)
3. Arbiter (Halo)

I cant think of any other blade-wielding character exclusive for the 360.

Personally I think they should scrap Vader, and Yoda....they just don't make sense. Kratos seems to fit in the Soulcalibur universe much better. If this rumor is true, I will be getting this game for the PS3.

Oh man! If this is true, I'm buying. I'm not even good at fighting games but I'd put forth my best gaming effort to learn moves if Kratos was a playable character. Plus, any developer that puts forth an effort to please a God of War fan like myself, should be rewarded with my money :^D

I know a lot of people who bought the gamecube Soul Calibur 2 just for Link; so when there's rumors about Kratos I'm not at all surprised.

Soul Calibur + Darth Vader - Mysterious Sidekick (For tie in game) + Kratos = WIN!

Hope this comes true; Kratos is truly the PlayStations new adult mascot.

Kratos rocks!

I was already planning on getting the PS3 version, so if this is true it would be great for me. But as has been stated by several others already, if they are adding another character to PS3 there must be another 360 addition as well.

They should have Steven Tyler From Guitar Hero and he could do vocal powers like Black Canary. His finisher could be like to give you an STD or something.. Oh wait no finishers in SC.. It would be nice if there were some hand lopping though..
