Rumortoid: Hulu coming to the Xbox 360 in the near future? photo

Hulu has made my life tons easier since I'm not the type of person to rush home when my favorite show comes on (or for that matter, watch shows made in America). So what if you could watch shows on it via your 360? If Olivia Munn's Twitter is to be believed, you may be able to do that very soon, as she recently tweeted "Just finished promos for hulu/microsoft event I'm doing on june 8!"Hulu/Microsoft event, hmmm?

Gizmodo followed up on this with some speculations of their own, and many of them seem pretty sound. Of course, hearing Shane Kim from Microsoft say that they were investigating connectivity with Hulu a while back is kind of a dead giveaway. I m all about using Netflix on my 360, so I think this would be a great addition to the console. Is this something you would be excited to see announced at E3 this week?

hm Colette, ever heard of DVR or TiVo? :)

that said there were speculations about Hulu being this year's Netflix deal so that could be true.

That would be A-Fucking-Mazing. It would also guarantee me never needing to get cable again.

There's this thing called PlayOn that let's PS3 and 360 users watch Hulu and YouTube videos one their consoles that's already available. The clincher, it's $40.

At first I thought Hulu was some kind of 4chan/lazyman's way of saying Halo. Then I saw the picture, and then things got interesting.

There's this thing called Internet Browser that let's PS3 users watch Hulu and YouTube videos on their console that's already available. The clincher, it's free.

The new beta version lets you do this to but if it was built into the software on the 360. This makes my day.

Hey guess what? PS3 already has Hulu! Just pop up the internet browser and type in Hulu.com. I wanted to show my friends an SNL video but all I had was a tiny laptop so I tried it on my PS3 and it actually works

@Wu/Sam
I've been hulu-ing (fucking Alec Baldwin, it's a verb now) for a few weeks on my PS3. It's so great, considering I don't have cable, or even basic cable for that matter.

Would you rather browse through youtube on your console than on a computer?

I would rather browse through it on my PS3 b/c it's hooked up to a much larger display than my PC. My PS3 also boots much more quickly.

This would probably help Microsoft quite a bit really. Since shows aren't on Hulu permanently, if someone really likes it, they might be inclined to purchase it off of Xbox Live's service. Would be a big plus for Xbox users too since Hulu would be optimized for the 360; which it isn't for the PS3 browser.

Although HULU/XBox360 integration would be fantastic, according to OliviaMunn.com the June 8th event seems to be about promoting Microsoft's new web browser Bing.

I'm surprised Sony hasn't throw money and a few developers PlayOn's way to get their service on the PS3 as a standalone application.

I was going to mention that I'm pretty sure I can even watch Hulu on my Wii. Definitely can on my PS3.

I don't see why they would do this. Sure, I would love it, but would a company that sells television shows start a partnership with a website that lets you watch them for free? Sure, you'd still have to buy a show to have it indefinitely, but who cares about that?

Then again, I think it's silly to sell television shows, anyway.

I think the combination of Netflix and Hulu is really great for all the 360 users that are interested watching streaming video. I know I would make a lot of use of it. Also, who cares if the PS3 can do this through a browser, not everyone owns or wants a PS3.

Also, why are Slipknot fans so drawn to Wal-Mart? Seems like whenever I go to Wal-Mart there is always someone sporting a Slipknot shirt.
