Eight screenshots have been popping up around the the Internet which claim to be images of upcoming downloadable content for Epic Games' Gears of Wars 2.

The screens don't reveal very much, but they appear to point towards at least one new map, a burnt out city with pools of Immulsion glowing all around. It has been pointed out that, for whatever reason, Immulsion was barely featured in the launch maps -- which is strange, considering it's one of the few bright colors in the game.

Real or fake? That is, of course, something that will be decided in due course. In the meantime, with Xbox Live continuing to go up and down like a yo-yo, I'd like to be able to get used to the launch maps first.

I hope MS doesn't force them to charge for the DLC again, but I think that's a bit of a long shot(no pun intended). :(

DLC still seems strange to me. I can understand it in certain forms for certain kinds of games, like the expansion for Oblivion, but in a game like Gears it has some serious problems.

One is that right now I have a metric fuckton of games to get through, and since I use an online rental service I only play two different games at the same time really with rare exceptions. So I'll be sending Gears back soon anyway to play Left 4 Dead. The other issue is that I don't play games for that long, I mean I enjoyed Burnout Paradise but I haven't bothered with the DLC because it all arrived far after I was done playing the game. And yes, I could probably go back and check out the new content, but again unless it was something I REALLY liked I would probably rather play a completely new game rather than an expanded old one.

Xandersan, What's your point? That DLC is actually for people that have the games and want more content?

Theres no problem with new maps being released I just hope they don't release them too soon.
