Ah, Def Leppard. I still remember watching "Pour Some Sugar on Me" air on MTV for its 1987 premiere. I thought to myself, these are true GODS of rock, capable of bringing down the heavens with their mighty riffs and mutilated jeans. Over twenty years later, even though they fall into the aging rockers category, I still find myself thinking quite fondly of them every time I hear "Photograph" on the radio.

Combine all that with the recent word that Def Leppard may be contributing three of their classic songs to Guitar Hero 4, and you can imagine I was in quite a bit of a tizzy this morning (the good kind, of course. ) It seems the band was featured on a radio show called Rockline to promote their upcoming album The Sparkle Lounge when guitarist Phil Collen mentioned the topic. The three songs in GH4 would be Photograph, Animal and Rock of Ages.

The only reason this is listed as a rumortoid is that the radio show isn't available to stream until April 29th, which is when the new album will be released. It sounds very possible though, as Activision seem to have been on top of making sure classic bands are making it into their GH games. The sooner this news is officially confirmed, the better. I'm totally listening to the whole Hysteria album right now in frantic anticipation.

I found it interesting how three songs were given.

Three being the magic number, why do I get the feeling this might turn out to be a DLC pack.

No confirmation yet, so I couldn't write it in the article, but it sure does sound like a DLC pack to me.

Rock Band doesn't need Def Leppard. I could only imagine how easy the drum bits would be.

Def Leppard puts on betters shows today than most of the "current" bands.

Can't wait for GH4...Though I still hope Hysteria and Pyromania become Rock Band albums.

If they do in fact release it for Rock Band, You would definetly have to play the drums with one arm.

Rock of Ages! I can't say GHIII's DLC has wowed me so far; I'm glad I bought Rock Band instead.
