Rumortoid: Dead Rising to hit the PS3? photo

Recently on PlayStation.Blog, Capcom Associate Product Manager John Diamonon put up a post regarding some questions that fans have about Bionic Commando: Rearmed. Aside from addressing questions in the main post, he also found himself answering more questions in the comments column. When one reader professed his love for Capcom and Dead Rising, Diamonon responded with:

You haven’t seen the last of Dead Rising.

We were all surprised when Dead Rising: Chop ‘Til You Drop was revealed in an issue of Famitsu, but will Capcom spread Dead Rising to yet another platform? The next poster, after catching the reply, asked for clarification about a PlayStation 3 version of the game. Diamonon replied to him with, “Not confirming anything, just hoping.” Did Diamonon accidently let the cat out of the bag? His second response to a poster’s inquiry certainly doesn’t jive well with the first one.

I know that when I’m on a supplement I tend to get anxious and quite confident about everything that I do. I also get a bit of a temper. Perhaps Diamonon has been taking some Mega Men Nutrition Formula, and instead of allowing the hormones to rage uncontrollably, he focuses on making every commenter exceedingly happy. I wish I could do that without sweating or frothing at the mouth because of excess protein. Regardless of our condition, we’ll keep our ears open about the possible future of Dead Rising on the PS3.

[Thanks, Justin!]

Then I guess it'll get the same treatment BioShock did.

I'd be annoyed about it not being console exclusive but then I remember it came out like 2 years ago now or something and then I think...STOP PORTING IT AND MAKE A NEW ONE...argh...!

If this comes to PS3, I have no reason to hang onto my Wii now :(

(heh heh, I just said "hang onto my Wii")

That sounds more like he's alluding to a sequel.

@randombullseye
I thought the same thing

I was hoping they would mention something about a sequel at E3
so I sat patiently watching Capcom's press conference, only to discover they were just going to talk about Lost Planet the film

@RB2010
Well they have David Hayter on board
and a lot of the team who worked on the game, so it'll probably be faithful to the source

Whether that means it'll be good, who knows?
It'll be better than the crap Uwe Boll dishes out anyway

@ Fusiontr:
Bah instead of making another sci-fi shooter movie they should make an okami movie!

Back on topic, I hope this is turns into Dead Rising 2 rather than another port

Was seriously expecting this, I haven't come across any PS3 owner who doesn't want it.
Provided it doesn't slow down the sequel (YESPLZ) I'm all for it.

You have now... dont want.

I beat this on 360 when it first came out, and most people that havent owned a 360 have at least still played it. Its a little late.

PS3 owners are missing a lot, but this game actually isn't one of them. It's one of the worst designed games I've played in a long time. It's hindering for hindering's sake, frustrating for frustratings sake, cheesy for cheesy's sake. The fact that you have to stop playing the game in the middle of it and play the game from the beginning again just to beat it properly is beyond retarded. It's got RPG elements that take time to level up...but at the same time the clock is ticking so you have to essentially start your character over again!? So dumb! And that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to game design.
I'll admit, it's a good idea for a game...but this game isn't any good. It was blessed by good timing and the fact that gamers have a zombie/violence fetish. I hope Left 4 Dead doesn't go the same direction and will be a good WELL THOUGHT OUT product with GOOD DESIGN DECISIONS.

Just give me Dead Rising 2! I'm sure it would be nice if PS3 owners got some zombie loving, but I just want a sequel at this point!

This has got to stop they need to make Dead Rising 2 or port it to the PC so we can make some mods to improve the game. IE: add a real inventory, stack ammo on one weapon, more maps.

This suggests Dead Rising 2 to me, more than it suggests a PS3 port. I mean, a port doesn't seem like the sort of thing they'd tease like that.

What Sharpless said. I've been waiting for a sequel, I loved the first one and I'd definitely buy the second. But Left 4 Dead has got me excited enough for zombies, so whatev'.

I'm with sharpless, I think this = DR2.

Either way, I don't give a shit. I rented DR and hated every fucking second of it. And I love anything that involves zombies.

That magazine's like 2 years old.

I'd love to see Dead Rising on the PS3. After hearing that the camera system is not in the Wii version, I couldn't care less about that one now.
