Modern Warfare 2: Hardened Edition will come with Call of Duty: Classic, a reissue of the very first CoD game that could be made commercially available as a standalone download. If a UK online listing for Hardened Edition is to be believed, we may have found out how much the game will cost if/when it's distributed on its own ... and it's not pretty.
Play.com, when listing Hardened Edition's special features, states: "Equivalent DLC value 1200 MS points (£9.99)." This is in reference to CoD: Classic, and seems to hint at the official price point. Until evil publisher Activision sends a diabolical press release, this is conjecture for now. However, the day I spend fifteen bucks for a downloadable PlayStation game is the day I start poking my frenulum with hot needles.
We don't yet know for sure if the original Call of Duty will hit PSN or XBLA, nor do we know for sure if 1200 Points will be charged. However, this is Activision, the horde of the damned. I'd say there's meat on the bones of this rumor.

Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. But £15 for a PC game I could pick up for £4 is ridiculous!
I still agree with the sentiment, but Call of Duty 1 was never on PlayStation. Or any other console for that matter. It was a PC only title. A PC title that you can buy for less than $5 probably at this point. Call of Duty 2 was the first to hit consoles.
Are you thinking of CoD Finest Hour for PS2? Totally different game, from a developer that was not Infinity Ward.
Um, I'm pretty sure they announced it during the unboxing of the Modern Warfare 2 special editions... and I doubt it's something like Call of Duty: Finest Hour. I think it's pretty much been confirmed.
Plus it has United Offensive and it's still to this day played online in shockingly vibrant numbers for a good 5 years now.

I really loved part one. Wouldn't mind one bit to replay again for 800 banana dollars, no more than that though.
The original Call of Duty is a stunning game... it's online was epic, especially with the expansion added, United Offensive. In a lot of ways it is still the best Call of Duty game, and a quality port to console for the first time ever is almost certainly worth $15.
I have it on PC of course, and can run it super-sampled up the wazoo, so I have no interest in the console port, even if it's "1080p" which really means nothing compared to what you can do with it on PC.

The game has added worth from never being released on console before, first off, and secondly by having a strong multiplayer and singleplayer component.
It's still $20 on PC through Steam, as far as I know. It's not THAT old, and with graphics tweaks it looks great on PC, and I am sure it is upgraded somewhat to look great on console.
Call of Duty - Triple Pack (pc) is £9.98 from gameplay.co.uk
1200 ms points is a rip
Also, as said, since the game has never been on console before (OP still says otherwise there Jim) it deserves a premium. You can't run those cheap play.com PC discs on your Xbox.
A lot of console gamers are purely console gamers, they feel icky when using a PC to game on. For them, this game has always been out of reach, despite being the origin of an extremely popular series and an excellent game in its own right.
How is having a first chance to play it not added value?
