Rumortoid: Bungie had an awesome trailer for E3

Rumortoid: Bungie had an awesome trailer for E3 photo
     Halo

The big questions after Microsoft’s press conference at E3 this year were, “Why do we need Avatars, and where did Halo go?” Even though Bungie can’t directly address Avatars, they did address their notably absent announcement of a new Halo game, which was rumored to be a tactical shooter. Today, GameRush got hold of some new details on what was actually to be shown at E3 before the publisher yanked the game at the last second. Apparently, the guys at Bungie had a 60-second “knock’em down” trailer planned for the audience.

Jacob Metcalf, the guy who broke the Bungie and Microsoft split before it was announced to the media, had this to say about the trailer to GameRush:

Bungie had a sixty second knock’em down teaser trailer made that was going to unveil the game and it was going to be the close to Microsoft media keynote at E3. This was going to be followed up by Bungie doing their separate press event later on in the week on Wednesday to show off the new game.
Mr. Metcalf is renown for his Bungie contact, but later in the article he supposes that the new IP Bungie was going to announce was indeed a new Halo IP. It doesn’t make sense to digress like that considering the veracity of the trailer claim above. Regardless, it’s probably safe to assume that Bungie had some sort of footage planned for the event, and we’re still left to wonder why exactly it was pulled.

I totaly agree with Phantom Spaceman. Those comercials were so fantastic in a way that halo failed to be.

Also i'll hazard a guess as to why the announcement was pulled.

It was scheduled in to be when that countdown on the bungie site finished, however after seeing what nintendo and sony had at e3 microsoft decided it wasnt worth bringing out the big guns.

MS Exec wants to foster a burgeoning relationship with the once Sony-faithful Square-Enix, decides to let the FFXIII trailer take center stage.

Tells Bungie to hold off so people talk about FF and the Sqeenix partnership, not Bungie's new toy.

My guess is they'll show it at PAX.

Maybe a Halo game in the style of Warhawk?? Halo is all about the multiplayer and I find WH to be awesome. I'm sure Bungie could pull it off. They have the parts to do it.

I wonder, will it be a Halo game that's actually good? So far they've all be mediocre.

I'd be interested to see what the game is. To be honest, I'm kind of sick of tactical shooters and I actually appreciate that Halo's multiplayer is one of the few that doesn't fiddle with your aim depending on what kind of movement you are doing.

Say what you will about the single player or the type of people that play the multiplayer--there's a level of skill and competitiveness in that game that just isn't present in most online console titles.

nah for some reason i think the new publisher didn't want to make this game as a xbox exclusive. i hope to god this isn't the case though.

@ rbrooks

it'd be amazing if that were the case...but more than likely it's another halo game and so it'll stay on xbox...I've always hated the fact that halo's controlled by microsoft...I'm sure bungie could've/would've made the halo games much better if they weren't restricted by the release dates microsoft gives them
