Rumortoid: Beatles Rock Band to support vocal harmonies photo
  share: Twitter Facebook Reddit Digg
filed under: #Rock Band

Fresh from the May issue of Game Informer's "Loose Talk" gossip section comes an interesting rumor about the upcoming The Beatles: Rock Band.

According to the magazine, word on the street is that the title will allow for multiple singers, each using different microphones, to harmonize on the vocal tracks. Considering Fab Four's rich vocal harmonies, a feature like this almost seems necessary. Coupled with the fact that the Limited Edition bundle was recently announced to ship with a microphone stand, this rumor starts to sound entirely plausible.

Game Informer has mentions that they've been hearing talk that the Rock Band franchise will be supporting user-created content in the future. This isn't surprising, considering Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopoulos has hinted at this in the past. It simply seems like a natural (and obvious) progression for the series. You know, to let users re-write their favorite Nickelback songs.

Wow, I'm all for harmonizing. Too bad we won't be able to do any harmonizing in past songs, but this is a great jump. And the user-created content is a good thing too, especially since Harmonix seems to do music games right (not so much hardware, but their software is at the top of the game), so hopefully can actually get creative behind this stuff. I might have to get this game.

I've wanted that feature practically forever, ever since the first game came out and I wanted to be the guy going "HEY MAN" over and over again in Bowie's "Suffragette City." Shame they probably won't add it retroactively to any old songs...

Hoping this is true- if so, I hope that you'll be able to hear the actual player singing online like in RB2. That's probably been my only issue with game, if for no other reason than the inability to sing "Pretty Fly For a White Guy" as "Pretty Fly For a Rabbi".
