Proceed with caution. I know how easy it is to get your hopes up. I'm still bitter for having to play a fan translation of this title.

The Squre Super Famicom we-wouldn't-know-it-was-a-classic RPG Bahamut Lagoon never came to the US. This beautiful strategy game caused quite a stir in Japan, but this was back in a time before Square knew how to print money. Maybe they've come to their senses?

Siliconera points to a recent trademark for "Blood of Bahamut." I know, it's a stretch. This could just as easily be a new title. Square Enix usually keeps the original title for games we've seen before.

Damn. Now I've got my own hopes up. What do you think Blood of Bahamut is?

I hope it is true. Bahamut Lagoon is one of my favorite games of all time, even if I had to play a fan translation, albeit a good one.

I don't know anything about this game. But judging from the videos I saw, I probably would prefer playing the original rather than have a remake. Here's hoping for a DS port.

I hope it's true as well. Fan subs are all well and good but I want the real deal. I do hope they go the chrono trigger DS route instead of the FF3/4 DS route and keep the 2d sprites.

WTF all of their remakes of old games have been as good as or better than the originals. Stop hating, if you don't like the remakes then don't complain, go play something you like.

Also, cocks.

Damnit, I want a translated GBA port. I wanted to play this game since I saw screens in Nintendo Power 15 years ago. Same with Treasure Hunter G - I drooled over that game and it never came out.

...but...

To Squaresoft's credit, they didn't put out FFV here and I see why. I tried to play that game and put about 10 hours into it and I just hated it. So maybe they were doing me a favour.

Still, the fact that I've been waiting for ±15 years is gross.

Anyone with a decent computer, some google knowhow, and some time on their hands can play this game, right. Now.

@Mentok

It's the Square tax that really grinds people's shit. They're selling data easily worth $40 but has existed too long for that to be fair from a consumer standpoint. Even if Square sold just one of it's good games for $34.99 I think it would shut some fans up about rip-off rehashes.

I have to say that I'm one Squaresoft fan that never really got that far into Bahamut Lagoon. I downloaded it and played it for a few hours but I scrapped my ROM software after a few days when I discovered credit cards, eBay, and a working SNES in my closet.

Ahh, Bahamut Lagoon was an awesome awesome game. I do hope a remake is on the way, but more Chrono Trigger than Final Fantasy IV. (or more port than remake).

I still don't think that sounds like a remake though, but still it would be nice to see one. That or a decent SNES emulator for the DS.

I highly doubt it. Blood of Bahamut =/= Bahamut Lagoon.

@EDS
Damn right! It's been years assholes! Where's my SD3 SquareEnix?!?! If you're going to rehash stuff, it wouldn't kill you to make a Romancing SaGa trilogy pack. Phantasy star did it, why can't you?

I have this idea for a game where there's a map of different conclusions. The idea is to jump to the different conclusions! I think Dale North would be really good at jumping to conclusions.

That's a stretch... I will not get my hopes up.

Actually I never finished Bahamut Lagoon. I leveled up my dragons too much. Magic-casting enemies were able to waste my human characters instantly...

Maybe it's time for me to start a new game.

I love this game. In fact, it's what I'm currently playing on Homebrew. :P And after I finish, I'm letting the girlfriend run through it to make her own dragon squads.

If a remake were done for a console and not a handheld, I'd be interested. I'm about sick to death of every remake that comes out being on a handheld. I want to sit down in front of a TV and play games like I did when I was a kid. Although...I did play an awful lot of FFL on Gameboy as a teenager...
