It was only yesterday that everyone was talking about
Sony's downplaying of the Xbox 360's episodic content for
GTA IV, and the common theme that kept cropping up in the story's comments was achievement points. Apparently they make a difference.
As you know, the Xbox 360's got them, and when combined with the extra content that Microsoft supposedly spared no expense on, we now know that (at least to those who stopped by to comment on our blog) the Xbox 360 is the hometown favorite. Thanks to a couple of tipsters, that complete list of achievements is just a click away....or is it? Nothing's official yet, so don't get your panties in a wad over them, if they turn out to be fake. We just post what people send us. Anyway, the goodies can be found after the jump, as well as the photo gallery. Spoilers abound, so don't let it be said that the robot didn't at least warn you. It's how we roll.

Complete the first mission. - One Hundred and Eighty 10G
In a darts game score 180 with 3 darts. - Pool Shark 10G
Beat a friend at pool. - King of QUB3D 15G
Beat the High Score in QUB3D - Finish Him 15G
Complete 10 melee counters in 4 minutes - Genetically Superior 25G
Come first in 20 singleplayer street races. - Wheelie Rider 30G
Do a wheelie lasting at least 500 feet on a motorbike. - Gobble Gobble 10G
Score 3 strikes in a row, a turkey, in 10-pin bowling. - Driving Mr. Bellic 10G
Unlock the special ability of taxi. - Rolled Over 30G
Do 5 car rolls in a row from one crash. - Walk Free 50G
Lose a 4 star wanted rating by outrunning the cops. - Courier Service 10G
Complete all 10 package delivery jobs. - Retail Therapy 10G
Unlock the special ability of buying guns from a friend. - Chain Reaction 20G
You must blow up 10 vehicles in 10 seconds. - One Man Army 40G
Survive 5 minutes on 6 star wanted level. - Lowest Point 5G
Complete mission “Roman’s Sorrow”. - Over Fulfilled 10G
Complete all 10 Exotic Export orders. - Manhunt 15G

@Elitechief27 That one is probably viral, meaning you don't have actually kill a developer, just someone who already has that achievement.
Now, I like achievement goals. It gives you something extra to strive for in a game, but screw the little point system. That's kind of pathetic. So really, there's nothing being done with these achievements that Rockstar can't just turn right around and put on PS3 and work just as well (like other games have done recently).
That said, I'm buying the 360 version but that's a choice I made a long time ago when I sold my PS2 versions for Xbox 1 versions of GTA3, VC, and SA. Better to have them all on the same platform :)
Aaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, is the spoiler warning really a neccesity here? Is anybody shocked that you will kill guys, sometimes using pistols, in GTA 4? Did somebody think that perhaps this will be the first game where the objective is to not complete it?

Yes there are plenty of Xbox fans here, but we have a pretty healthy PS3 clan too. Stick around for a while, and you'll see it.
Its not just that theres allot of Xbox fans here, theres just allot of people with the xbox360 period. In a perfect world everyone would have both consoles by now.
I really don't care about achievements in my GTA, the game stands well on its own. I'm just happy its coming out for the only console I own at the moment.
And I suppose you're a PS3 fan?
Well, there's a good number of people here who have more than one console, we're game fans, informally.
Take your biased ass over to the Playstation forums and cry your heart out over there.
I know of about 5 people on this site who are getting the PS3 version ON THIS SITE, so your whiny comment doesn't hold any weight.
I, like turtule soup, am a little upset they are sort of generic, though. I was expecting "jump from the tallest building" or "kill 3 dozen pedestrians in [x amount of time]" and stuff like that. Seeing as how most people end up playing GTA simply to dick around, I thought the achievements would reflect that.
Oh well. It'll still be amazing and there's nothing that'll stop me from creating my own little goals while I play, especially with friends online.
Anyone else think of just how fun having 16 people in the city with you will be? How many meta games you can create? Shit. I just got a boner.

hummm i d'like to agree with on this ... but i don't. many here are 360 fanboys who don't have a fair opinion .... because i ask for fair opinion about the PS3 people think i'm a PS3 fanboy loll but i do own all 3 consoles ... not the case for everybody here !
Pretty much a LOT of people care about achievements. I am by all means a normal(read: hardcore) gamer. I know the points cant buy me anything but they are fuck as hell to unlock and compare with your friends. It's not an e-Penis contest because the top 5% of Gamerscores were hacked anyways, so it's a nice little extra that is influential enough to push sales over, say, another console that doesnt have them. Which is why Sony is "borrowing the Achievement system for PS3.
Also: What makes all the gaming blogs think these achievements are FAKE? If you look at the recently released screenshots of GTAIV multiplayer, you see two "players" with the names RS NYC 1 and RS NYC2. What's to stop anyone from going on XBox.com and looking them up for their achievements? Any time you pop in a 360 disc you can see all the achievements in the game(unless theyre secret) and so can anyone who looks up your profile.
Best name for an achievement, ever.
Who's time is that? The developers? Hmmm I wonder how that will work.
It's probably like Burnout: Paradise(in that game, every street had a pre-set time you had to beat) I imagine.

"kill 1,000,000 people total" I assume you were a fan of Perfect Dark Zero's endless grinding achievements? 1,000,000 is far too high a number for it to still be fun. The only reason Dead Rising's Zombie Genocider achievement was alright was because you could take a few cars and kill about 1,000 zombies before they broke down.
