Business is business though.
4gb's is cute.
But if Microsoft is aiming this bundle at the 'casual' market, yes, they will be competitive. Will all be defined if buyers wants a blu-ray player or jump in the Kinect wagon.
At any rate, I still have my 20GB original (albeit replaced after it fell victim to the Red Rings) that's still serving me quite nicely.
Though I really don't have the money to spare when I'm planning on dropping almost 500 bucks for the games coming out (Saints Row 3: Platinum Edition, Halo 1 remake, Uncharted 3, Gears 3, Deus ex: Human Revolutions, MW3, BF3, Resident Evil Operation, Armored Core V, etc...)
also LOLOLOLOLOLOL @ 4gb hdd. what the fuck good is that? You simply cannot compare that to 160 gigs on the PS3 for $249.
4GB version is perfect for casual players - i know plenty of people who still are using arcades or bought 4GB Slims. for people who are interested in singleplayer games and typical console gaming(offline multiplayer) this is perfect.
Bullshit.
It might have been once, but now it clearly is not. If they wanted to do their customers a real service, they'd increase that HDD by at least 20GB. Seriously, how little would a 25GB HDD cost Microsoft? The only possible reason I can think of why they would not increase the HDD capacity is that selling HDD upgrades to people who did not realize what they were doing when they bought an Arcade version is just way too lucrative. It's a bloody racket at this point.
I don't think the 360 needs a price cut, as the $199 price point is pretty attractive, but they SHOULD increase the size of the HDD. 4GB is ridiculous with today's digital distribution market.
Kinect and Kinect bundles definitely need a price cut, as well. The people who would buy a Kinect at $150 have already done so, and it has long ago stopped driving 360 hardware sales.
After having a 20 Gig 360 for 5 years, 4 Gigs is shit. You can't even have the full Halo Reach experience with hella fun custom games. Playing stuff off USB drives is just not the same. My friend who got a free 360, who is a poor college student, is wanting to trade in his 4 gig XBox for a PS3.
if shop sells MS versions of HDDs for 150$ then you're getting seriously ripped off.
@fetusmilk,
if i'm not mistaken WD is actually official producer of this HDD.
@pokota,
considering the fact that it took several years for my friends to finally buy HDD for their 360s and some of them still didn't do it, i seriously doubt that. hell most of them didn't even setup internet on 360 cause they simply don't give a damn about online. even for me it took several months before i gone to marketplace and played first online match(and i bought xbox 360 Premium 60GB).
not all people buy downloadable games, DLC or play online.
