Rumor: Warhawk expansion slated for December

Oh Game Informer, with your games and your informing. When will you ever cease to amaze us? While we at Destructoid have yet to receive our office copy of the latest issue (yes, we subscribe, and we also save 10% off of used games!), the Internet has.

Word is spreading fast that Game Informer makes mention of an upcoming expansion pack for the PlayStation 3 title, Warhawk. Included with be a new vehicle, a dropship which can airlift vehicles across the map, as well as fire missiles. Besides that it's slated to hit in December, that's the extent of Game Informers' informing on this topic. There's no word on whether or not new maps or weapons will also be included.

SCEA and Incognito have yet to confirm this information, so until they do, please enjoy this video of Timex Social Clubs' 80s dance hit, "Rumors."

I have recently been getting into warhawk, i think I'm addicted because I just want to call my brother and tell him to get on. He also says that he hopes his other friends don't call him for WoW because he wants to keep playing warhawk. More maps (if included) = win.

I don't see how they could pull off new weapons simply because of the manner in which weapons are selected and carried. New maps would be welcome though! Dropship sounds ok, mostly useful for reaver... err tank drops on bases I would guess. Jeep drops would be pointless for so many reasons.

While all that stuff sounds great, I’d really like to see them expand the current selection of maps from five to, I dunno, at least seven or so. More weapons aren’t necessary, and as Anemone mentioned, not really possible, considering that there can only be a total of eight. They should just focus on fixing the network and stat-tracking issues (for the love of God, don’t reset the stats!), and tweaking weapon balance, if anything.

@Bronxbombr21 ... I'm not going to cap out your name.
I would be a fan of a ban for everyone over 150k points. There is no way that anyone who wasn't either points whoring or cheating in some way would break 100k, let alone 150k. As for stats tracking, I've been fine for a month or so now. I think the whole rank thing is fine too, the rank requirements that they originally had were way too high. I doubt that anyone would be playing long enough to hit general naturally.

Stats aren't fixed, as I'm still a rank I'm not supposed to be since I've never earned the medals required to BE that rank.

I'd LOVE more maps, and this guy is way whiter than Erkel.

That is all.
