Two new Left 4 Dead 2 campaigns confirmed photo

[ Update:  We have the Left 4 Dead 2 achievements and have confirmed these campaigns.  +1 karma for the rumors we choose to run! ]

It appears that two more Left 4 Dead 2 campaigns have been revealed. Gaming site GNN has two new mock posters up (like the ones for the previous campaign reveals) for what seem to be the first and fourth campaigns in the game. The first campaign will be "Dead Center" and takes place in a mall. No points there for originality, but I suppose it had to happen at some point since the series is all about putting you into horror movie cliches anyway.

The fourth campaign in the game will be "Hard Rain," and will take place in a refinery. More obviously, thanks to the game's title, the level will feature some cool weather effects. We're not sure what that will be, but zombies and mud make for a big, awesome mess.

We're shelving this one under rumor because we haven't heard anything about this (we're totally plugged into stuff like this) and we're still working on the translation of the page, but the posters look very convincing along with the brief descriptions we could grab.

While this gets sorted out check out our coverage on the confirmed new multiplayer mode 'scavenge'.

Anyone who complains about a mall campaign will be beaten severely.

90% of the time I don't even realize its raining on No Mercy. It'd be cool if environmental effects affect gameplay somehow in LFD2.

Well, we know there will be five campaigns, right? These could be it, but if they're not, who cares?

Font looks pretty ugly, but I think that's intentional.

Did Detox just compare Left 4 Dead to Zombieland?

A rationalisation would have been nice.

@Tarvu I think we can all agree the L4D2 would benefit greatly with the addition of Twinkies.

I support the inclusion of Twinkies in L4D2 or even in L4D as dlc.

I guess Detox hates video games but likes movies?

I'm still not sold on the new characters yet they seem less distinctive then the first 4 survivors.

Am I the only one who instantly had "Heavy Rain" come to mind after reading that poster haha.

OMFG I SEE A KATANA!!!!11!!!1

I'm still debating whether to get the 360 version or PC.....

Hard Rain is clearly superior to Heavy Rain, thus proving the 360 has won the console war.
Also, Detox is retarded. Though I will admit Zombieland reminded me a lot of Left 4 Dead (four people, melee weapons, a carnival...that movie was rad).
This game is going to be freaking fantastic.

@Shadowii: I made note of all of those similarities too, and I will be outright surprised if we don't see a Zombieland mod for L4D in the near future.

I can't believe no one's more excited about the idea of a mall-based campaign. That's one of the most well-known zombie scenarios, and I'm glad to see them (hopefully) putting it in the game.

theres no way its fake, the art style is way too specific to copy. plus no one would waste that much time re-rendering the characters in different poses, and using photo composites.

is this 3 or 4 campaigns that've been revealed so far ? I know there's supposed to be 5 in total.

I really wish we'd get more then 5 campaigns out of the box.

but mind you, from what I've seen, these are supposed to be much more substantial then the previous offerings in L4D, which is fine by me.

Hard Rain, huh? Well, at least it'll be better than that awful movie of the same name with Christian Slater and Morgan Freeman.

@LokiTerjesen, i would suggest watching Alone in the Dark to see a bad Christian Slater movie, but im not that cruel.

It starts in savannah before moving to New Orleans right? I live in savannah and hope that's our mall. I know it inside and out.

I agree with Reginald, those poses and backgrounds are way too specific to be anything else but real. Either that, or the person who made these is someone who fucking loves L4D (Don't blame them). Still, I'm going to say that those posters are legit and we have ourselves here the final two campaigns.

Mall = Win.

As for the refinery, definitely cool.

The only thing now is to reveal the last two Uncommon Infected and the final two Boss Infected. CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS GAME.

Have to agree w/ Mr.Slippery. Sorry but I don't see why it's call 5 "campaigns". They're just "levels" and can be completed in 3 hrs. It's more like 5 chapters in one campaign. Doesn't sound as great though. That said, I bought L4D1 new, but will be getting L4D2 when it drops to $20 or less. Fool me once...ya can't get fooled again.
