Rumor that should be true: Criterion working on new SSX
It's a fact that Electronic Arts needs to get off its ass and employ someone (anyone!) to make a true next-generation SSX title. What if that "someone" was Guildford, England-based Burnout developer Criterion Games? That's the rumor, coming straight from the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine. The title is said to be in development alongside the already confirmed "action" Need for Speed title that's set to ship this holiday. Word of a Criterion-developed SSX started floating around awhile back when the company's official Twitter account dropped a mysterious message referencing SSX announcer DJ Atomika, as well as the "Peak 3." Whether or not this is true remains to be seen, but with E3 set to be a huge show this year, we may hear more in the coming months. If someone important is reading this -- please make this be true... even if it's not. Criterion Working On New SSX? [The Sixth Axis] [Image] Did you know? So many games I want made, so few kidneys. I loved the first SSX, and whored the hell out of Tricky, but then they got out of hand. Tricky was the best. Don't they have skiing in them now? If this is more like Ticky then I'd buy it day 1 More SSX would be good. Please drop DJ Atomika though. I can only stand so much of his non-threating "cool". We NEED this as SSX Blur was nothing but a mash-up of previous games and not what we all wanted. EA Montreal, make it happen!
I too still play SSX 3 and On Tour and so do my friends. I better bring a towel with me to bed tonight... oh, wow, i used to *love* Adam Warren, havent read/seen any of his stuff in years though. neat to see some again!
