What's wrong with "Nest Generation Portable"? Sure, the name will only make sense for a few years, but that certainly wasn't a problem for New Super Mario Bros.
I'm pretty sure the word "Vita" is Latin for "Life". So, Sony wants your life to focus around the device or something? I don't know...
I'm fine with it being called the NGP, nothing wrong with that. Just don't use it as an acronym, or at least not stand for Next Gen Portable...

Best friend got me a Game Boy Micro a few months and it's made me realize how sad I am to see the handheld go in the direction it's going. But I will forgive all the fucking gimmicks and bloated specs if there's a decent software lineup. Until then, this next generation just isn't for me.

I do think Vita is a nice changge of pace from the typical three-letter abreviations we usually see in the game industry as of late.

They also tend to ignore the fact competition even exists, so why even mention 3Ds and iOS devices. It doesn't even look like something Sony would put out to promote or as a survey. Very sloppy.

I'm really trying to like this, mostly because I've always wanted dual analogs on a handheld, but I just don't see it. I can't imagine it being affordable, or game development being cheap enough to keep mobile games at the already too high $40. If games do go even higher you'll likely see less sales, which means less incentive to develop. My hopes aren't high.

It isn't fake, at least not in the sense that I made it. I got handed a survey from Ipsos iSay surveys back in March and captured the image right there. THey seriously do very little to enforce these non-disclosure agreements beyond asking you to be nice about it. (when in college taking surveys is surprisingly great at getting me some small spending money at Amazon. I already fully paid off L.A. Noire and Catherine through store credit alone!) I don't know my way around photoshop to make anything look like anything else, not that I even own a copy of the thing. Just though it was relevent to the article, that "PSP2" was one name that was being kicked around at some point.
