According to James Bond website MI6, Singularity developer Raven Software is currently working on a stealth-based title based in the Bond universe.

The rumor goes that wrk on the Bond title was halted earlier this year, as the Raven team was asked to reallocated its resources towards Call of Duty downloadable map packs. Just recently, MI6 claims, publisher Activision has asked the studio to begin work on the Bond title again.

The existence of such a title is backed by a demo reel created by Raven animator Hanjin Song. The video, posted at online video site Vimeo, has since been made private; the images in this article are snap shots from the now locked clip, courtesy of GamesRadar.

In other non-Bond news, MI6 also is reporting that Raven is or was working on an X-Men title, a follow up to last year's X-Men Origins: Wolverine title.

As a fan of Singularity (probably the most fun I've had with a first-person shooter this year, if you must know), I'd be interested in seeing what Raven could do with the Bond franchise. Outside of the recent GoldenEye remake for the Wii, it's been awhile since Bond has seen a truly solid title. Perhaps it's long overdue.

Haven't played bloodstone yet, but I'm always up for new bond games. Not to mention a new wolverine title will be awesome the last wa great.

I'm not sure if Raven would be the best developer to get in on Bond. Their previous games were all guns a-blazing and gore fests. Bond doesn't fit that style. I know they are purporting stealth, but I don't see that coming from Raven.

I was impressed with what they did with their Wolverine title, and the X-Men Legends games were always good fun. I'm interested in what they can do with Bond.

Here is was I think happened. This guys was one of the guys who got laid-off. And the MI6 guys probably stumbled across his demo reel and resume assumed it raven was restarting Bond, which they are not.

James Bond's not about stealth! He's about shooting someone with a compressed air capsule, watching them explode, and then commenting about how he needed to let off some steam or was full of hot air.

Make a James Bond game where you get to choose which suave quip you get to say after dispatching foes in an amazing fashion, it would be great.

The Cast

I'm still a bit bewildered why there is a lack of gadgets in the current Bond? Is it too hard to find a balance between sci-fi and believability? Not like we ask for laser beams and jet packs.

why not make it Snake Eater like game. that would be the best bond game ever. sucks that the bond franchise is stuck at activision would be cool if other companies can use the franchise to it's fullest.
