Rumor: Silent Hill Origins port coming to PS2? photo

Silent Hill Origins was a surprise for me. After seeing it at multiple conferences, I wasn't excited despite the huge Silent Hill fan that I am. My biggest concern was that the formula of the series would be used but the writing that has made the games so memorable would be absent. I came into the game with low expectations, so I was plesantly surprised to find myself playing a fairly actualized game that was pretty enjoyable.

I'm telling you all this because if you don't own a PSP and never got a chance to play it, there's a possibility that may soon change. Both Gamefly and Amazon have a page up for Silent Hill Origins for PS2, each having a different March release date. Konami has made no formal announcement, and that box would be a snap to Photoshop, so we can't really make any solid assumptions on the topic just yet.

Personally I'd buy it if it came out for PS2, although that's not saying much considering I'd likely be the first in line to buy a Pyramid Head condom dispenser (condoms now come in Rusted Blood™ and Religious Zealot Mutilation™ varieties.)

Yahtzee's review turned me off of the game. I might give a try if the port is any better.

I'm with you Colette I'll buy it but how's about they bring out new content versus the port. Hell they may as well port all of the PSP titles over ..cause that's what it looks like Sony is doing nowadays regarding the PS2.

It's an old rumor but I'm hoping it does come true. There was no reason for the game to ever be on PSP to begin with. I own a PSP but Silent Hill just ain't a portable game.

Feh, I played Origins, the first major area made me wanna hurt people, it was far to long and confusing and shows that as was said here, SH is just not a portable title.

It's happening. They'll port anything to PS2 because it still has a massive market presence. Too bad the game is shit.

do not want. what made this game for me was playing in the dark with the best headphones i have.

sony keeps destroying all need to own a psp by releasing all the good games on ps2. why buy a new consule when you could just wait a few months and have it on ps2?

I hope this is true, because I don't have a PSP and I have no intention of getting a PSP at this point, even for Silent Hill.

I wanted this and I have a PSP and I didn't get it due to the fact that it's on PSP, so PS2, YEAH!

Even though I have a PSP now, I'd rather buy it on PS2, just because survival horror is always better on a TV.
