It's a shame that Prince of Persia collection was built off the PS2 versions instead of the much better looking Xbox versions, because I'd have easily gotten that collection too.
First and Third party collaborations never become ports to another platform.
Just like the first Mass Effect can't come to the PS3.
Just like Lost Odyssey can't come to the PS3.
Just like Goldeneye can't come to the PS3 or 360.
Or The Last Story, for that matter.
Perfect Dark and Banjo Kazooie came to 360, but that's because Nintendo let Rare keep their IPs. What Rare couldn't leave with was Star Fox and Donkey Kong. And notice how Halo didn't leave with Bungie? Its all about contracts and licensing agreements, sometimes those agreements are make complicated and different by design.
Miyamoto was in on Twin Snakes, too - there's one such complication.
A pox on thee, Sony. A pox on thee.
MGS1 - Remade entirely using MGS4 engine, since most of it is already redone on MGS4
MGS2 and 3 - They could to a pretty good HD face lift with current gen textures like Bully: Scholarship edition but should just keep everything.
By the way if you haven't played MGS3, specifically 3 then you have missed out on one of the best games ever. MGS1 doesn't hold up to well technically as well as the the gameplay mechanics so that's why I suggest a complete makeover. MGS2 is also incredible, underrated by too many people just because of Raiden and the rollarblade guy, everything else was great in my opinion.
I'm pretty sure the last editor to make a Metal Gear-related prediction (something about MGS4 on 360) ended up going crazy. Well....crazier haha. Anyways if this happens I'll be all over the game. I downloaded the original off PSN but still have yet to beat it. This is definitely a series I'm missing out on.
You're 100% right.
Nintendo commissioned TTS, Sony/Kojima Productions would have to buy the rights (and everything else attached to it) to bring it to this.
I doubt Nintendo would let Sony use "their" own game for something as big as this against them.
True, there probably would be licensing problems but honestly, I don't see that being much of a problem since, again, it's Konami's game. They own the rights to the game, not Nintendo. Doesn't matter if Nintendo worked on it, they didn't publish it.

Hmmmmmmmm? I can quote most lines of the first game, I know where to look to spoot Meryl's sweet azz and I know Psychomantis' weakness...
So will I buy this version as well... definitely maybe, if there are some goodies and extras innit definitely MAYBE.
That's pretty mean. It does matter to some people because maybe they don't have a PS3, or, they prefer a 360/Wii/PC/Dreamcast more than PS3.
Now ICO Collection on the other, I'm definitely getting that! Seeing how it is to find a copy of ICO on Playstation 2.
I just hope the versions are the ones with the extras (Substience and etc).
But please give us the Original MGS Soundtrack. What would be Rex's Lair without its "ZOOOMMMMM"?
So, not only you insult 360 owners, you insult Wii and PC owners as well? God, now I hope the MGS collection is an Xbox 360 exclusive, only to laugh in your face.
Fun fact: MGS2, and 3 were on a single DVD Rom, it can fit on a 360, fucktard.
So it needs 3 discs for Each title? So fucking what. You make a big deal out of a little thing, and here I thought you Wine sipping, dick riding, OMG TEH BLOO WAYZ PS3 elitists would be more calm and collected and more acceptable and tolerant to other console owners. But you promote the stereotype tat sonysuckers are jackass.
You know what, Jayson? I really RREALLY hope that bad karma kicks in for you, bro.
/rage.
If this really does happen, we could see MGS 1,2, and 3 with trophies before MGS4. How silly.
A true HD remake of the original MGS (with the MGS4 engine) would frankly be FAR BETTER than a basic GoW-style collection of the PS2 era games with nothing more than a resolution bump. To hell with that. I want MGS1 with the MGS4 engine. That is all.
now, get me Silent Hill HD collection and I will talk forever about how awesome that would be.
On top of all that, where are the 360 versions of these game collections? Oh, that's right, they originally appeared on PS2, and thus 360's not worthy. Love those japanese devs. Maybe they don't want 360 owners money, but anyone with half a brain, would try to sell to both markets, not one.
Also, Ubisoft and Crystal Dynamics are Western developers so I don't think this is primarily Japanese developers choosing not to port the games. They should port these collections though to Xbox Live. It's only fair and makes sense. Microsoft should get on this but they're too focused on the Kinect.
