Rumor: LEGO Batman 2 DC Super Heroes in development photo

Here's a much more believable rumor for you on a sweet Sunday afternoon. It looks like LEGO, DC comics, and Travelers Tales will be teaming up for a new Lego Batman game. This one will feature Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Lex Luthor, and a host of other DC comics heroes and villains.

The game is rumored to be released along side next year's Dark Knight Rises film and a new series of DC Super Heroes LEGO sets

I really enjoyed the first LEGO Batman title, but after completing it, I was in no way hungry to throw down another $50 for more Bat-brick action. Throwing Superman and other DC icons might be enough to change my mind though. How about you? You up for some abstracted, cute and breakable DC super hero actio n next year?

Wouldn't it make more sense to call it Lego Justice League or something?

Here's the three things I require to buy this:
LEGO Green Arrow.
LEGO Frank Miller Batman.
Online.

These three, and I'll bite.

I don't need any other superheroes in my Batman.

You play one Lego game and you've played them all. Adding new characters or licenses really doesn't make it more exciting for me.

Lego Star Wars - Great
Lego Star Wars 2 - Masterpiece

Lego Batman - Punch everything to solve the puzzles

I'll grab it. Only played two Lego titles so far. Pirates which I loved and SW3 which was alright. Tried the demo for the first Batman and it was fun, but I like these on handhelds.

I have only ever owned LEGO Star Wars the complete saga on Wii and that is it, that gave me everything I could ever want in a lego game.

On the clock on Sunday night, eh Holmes? More power to ya. Hopefully you won't be working for too much longer. If I could post a beer for you in this comment, I would. Cheers!

Before Batman Arkham Asylum/City, Lego Batman was the best Batman game. I'm totally down for another one. The thing with Lego games is that you either love em or hate em. I love em.

Ya they're def great. I keep going into the demos for these "Lego" games thinking "this is gonna be gay", but then I end up playing the demo for 2 hours and realizing making assumptions is stupid - a lesson we can all learn.

Sure but how about some good music? Say from Batman Returns, Super Man 1 & 2 and perhaps the Justice League cartoon... or all the good DC cartoons?

If any of the complainers are over 10 years old (12 tops) then this game isn't for you. The Lego games are meant for kids and families. Parents can play along, the formula is strong and you are only meant to pick and chose the properties you like. Don't like Star Wars but love Pirates of the Caribbean? Great - there is your choice. Older people who buy these games for themselves (no kids involved) and complain that the gameplay is too simple or not different enough from others in the series are deluded. We have them all, my 8 year old and 6 year old love them but I fully expect them to grow out of them at sometime. So should you.

I'd love to see how the "I'm the goddamn Batman" scene would play out.

I played games when I was a kid, and I didn't need for them to all be simple and repetitive.

Lego Justice League would be pretty great, but I don't think I'd want it to be Lego Batman with a bunch of side characters. Everyone else needs to shine and let Batman be the back up.

And like Epic said, Lego Green Arrow is a must.
