So long as these guys don't make any other ending besides, "in water" the canonical ending, I'm fine with whatever they do. That was the ending I got, so that is the ending I want this to go with.</p>

Hm, this is not good news. I honestly think Silent Hill 2 should be left alone. No sequels and no movies.</p>

I don't really know what Konami had to do with Shattered Memories... or any SH game made since 4. But Shattered Memories is the best one made by someone other than them by a loooooong shot. And actually the best in the series imo, despite the flaws.</p>

Aye. Tis a rare thing indeed for me to agree with Sterling, but Konami screwed up royally with Shattered Memories...to the point that it wasn't Silent Hill anymore. Sure, the names are similiar and the plot was reminiscent but the spirit was all but dead.</p>

Why are people thinking it's a remake or a movie thing though? When I heard the news, the first thing that came to my mind was that SH8 was gonna have a James cameo or Sh9 will be featuring James again.</p>

I kind of wanted Silent Hill to end on Shattered Memories' interesting note, but now they're making another and without Yamaoka touching it. Damn shame. I truly love the series, but it should have ended with little more than the occasional HD port in its future.

Jim, the fact that you thought Silent Hill:Shattered Memories was a mess goes to show your incredible taste in games and speaks volumes about ALL you review scores...there would not be one LOGICAL reason for SH:SM to be a 'mess'.
